There is provided an arc welding method. In the method, welding is performed in a spray transfer mode by feeding a welding wire. A first welding current Iwis flown during a first period. A second welding current Iwis flown during a second period. A third welding current Iwis flown during a third period, where 0&#x3c;Iw&#x3c;Iw&#x3c;Iw. The first to third periods are alternately repeated.

Arc welding method

A solid wire is for gas-shielded arc welding, using a shielding gas, and for galvanized steel sheet welding. The solid wire comprises, to the mass of the whole of the solid wire, predetermined amount of C, Si, Mn, P, S, O, and Cr, with the balance consisting Fe and inevitable impurities. The solid wire satisfies '1.0&#x2266;(percentage by mass of Si+that by mass of Mn)/{100(that by mass of S+that by mass of O}&#x2266;4.0' and '0.50&#x2266;percentage by mass of Mn/that by mass of Si&#x2266;2.00'. The shielding gas is an Ar gas comprising 25 to 40% of COgas. It is achieved to improve spatter-decreasing performance and pore-resisting performance (performance of restraining the generation of porosity defects, such as pits and blowholes).

Output control method for consumable electrode arc welding power source

In pulse arc welding, a welding wire is fed at a rate corresponding to a current average set value. An arc is struck by passing a peak current for a peak period and a base current for a base period, where the peak and base periods make one pulse period. The arc transfers a droplet from the wire. The peak period includes a first peak period for a first peak current and a second peak period for a smaller second peak current. The first peak period and current are determined so that an arc anode point is formed at the top of the droplet even if the shield gas mixing ratio deviates from a standard value. The second peak period and current are determined so that one droplet is transferred during every pulse period, and beads are formed with no undercuts.

Pulse arc welding method

An arc start control method in robot welding includes the steps of shorting a welding wire with a base metal, retracting a welding torch by a welding robot for taking the welding wire off the base metal to generate an initial arc, retracting the welding torch to a predetermined position with maintaining the initial arc maintained while applying an initial arc current smaller than a steady welding current during this initial arc period, and starting to feed the welding wire steadily and to supply the steady welding current so as to make a transition from the initial arc to a steady arc as well as starting to move the welding torch along a welding line. During a re-shorting prevention period which starts from a beginning of the initial arc period, a re-shorting prevention current which is larger than the initial arc current is applied in order to prevent re-shortening between the wire tip and the base metal right after the initial arc was generated. Thereafter, the initial arc current is applied.

Arc start control method in robot welding

A control method for AC pulse arc welding performed upon application of cyclic AC welding current is provided. The welding current has a cycle including an electrode negative polarity period and an electrode positive polarity period subsequent to the electrode negative polarity period. In the control method, an electrode negative polarity base current and a subsequent electrode negative polarity peak current are applied during the electrode negative polarity period. The electrode negative polarity base current has an absolute value smaller than a first critical value, and the electrode negative polarity peak current has an absolute value greater than the first critical value. Then, an electrode positive polarity peak current is applied during the electrode positive polarity period. The electrode positive polarity peak current has a value greater than a second critical value.

AC pulse arc welding control method

A power supply for arc welding includes switching elements PTR, NTR for switching the polarity of the direct voltage from a power circuit PMC. The element PTR is connected in parallel to a series unit of a switching element TR and a resistor R . Likewise, the element NTR is connected in parallel to a series unit of a switching element R and a resistor R . A necking determination circuit ND determines whether a constriction occurs at the molten bridging portion between the welding wire and the base material. When the constriction occurs during the &ldquo;electrode positive&rdquo; mode, the switching element PTR is turned off, while the switching element TR is brought into the conduction state. When the constriction occurs during the &ldquo;electrode negative&rdquo; mode, the switching element NTR is turned off, while the switching element TR is brought into the conduction state.
