A system and method are provided for tracing bank notes or, specifically, counterfeit money. In one example of the tracing system, an automatic teller machine (ATM) electronically connected to one or more devices is provided. The one or more devices comprise a deposit device configured to receive an initial bank note; an image extraction device configured to extract one or more initial images from the initial bank note; a transaction log device configured to attach a transaction log to the one or more initial images, wherein the deposit device is further configured to receive a subsequent bank note, wherein the image extraction device is further configured to extract one or more subsequent images from the subsequent bank note; and a comparison device configured to compare the one or initial images to the one or more subsequent images in order to obtain a comparison result.

System and method for tracing bank notes

In order to prevent interception of the information through the leakage electromagnetic waves when transmitting the information using an image display unit, an image converter generates plural converted images, stores the generated converted images in an image storage, an image output unit reads out the converted images from the image storage and transmits the converted images to a screen control unit successively. The screen control unit displays a reception image on an image display unit. The image output unit outputs the converted image group at a high speed, thereby performing a switching display on the image display unit, and to show an image visually equivalent to the input image.

Information display device and information display method

In order to prevent interception of information through leakage electromagnetic waves when transmitting the information using an image display unit, an image converter generates plural converted images, stores the generated converted images in an image storage, an image output unit reads out the converted images from the image storage and transmits the converted images to a screen control unit successively. The screen control unit displays a reception image on an image display unit. The type and number of denomination of notes and the identification method of authentic notes differs for every country. The development of such identification device for these currencies in each country increases the manufacturing cost, and the processing time increases when the types of notes to be authenticated are increased. The present invention provides a paper sheet identifier device, which includes a main board for operating common processes independent from specific notes and sub-boards in parallel operation, allowing sub-boards connected to the main board to be added or replaced in accordance with the type and number of denomination of notes in a country along with the authentication method. The present invention improves the processing speed by parallelizing the identification processes, and the efficiency of updating the device specification when a new note is issued.

Paper sheet identifier device

The technique of the present invention enhances the stability of paper material identification of sheets. To achieve the above purpose, both short-wavelength light in the range of 370 nm and long-wavelength light in the range of 420 to 1000 nm are irradiated to paper to be identified in identifying the paper material. The identification is carried out, based on the difference in absorbance of the paper, which is obtained for each irradiated light. The absorbance of the paper varies according to the paper material, thereby enabling the identification of the paper material free from influence, which are caused by differences in manufacturing process, such as shading patterns. In addition, the simultaneous use of the short-wavelength light and the long-wavelength light declines influence on the absorbance, which are caused by environmental factors, such as humidity and deterioration of sheets, thereby resulting in stable identification of the paper material.

Paper quality discriminating machine

A bill discriminating method of discriminating a paper material independent of a light/dense pattern caused by a difference of manufacturing steps and discriminating a paper material of paper without being influenced by humidity or deterioration of the paper material is provided, Two kinds of infrared rays of different kinds of wavelengths are irradiated onto the paper, thereby discriminating the paper material of the paper by using an absorbance difference between photometric values.
