A parking brake operating device includes: a lever body; a pole pivotally arranged inside a proximal end portion of the lever body, and restricts pivoting movement of the lever body; and a release rod pivotally connected to the pole, and causes the pole to disengage from the ratchet when a release knob is pushed, the operating portion being provided with a slit being provided with a wide portion into which a pivot connecting portion for the release rod and the pole is introduced, the wide portion being provided in a part of the slit; the wide portion having parallel portions; and the release rod and the pole fitted at positions in the lever body by introducing the release rod and the pivot connecting portion into the operating portion through the slit, and moving the release rod and the pivot connecting portion in this state toward the proximal end portion.

A connecting pin fitting assistive device that prevents erroneous fitting in which, instead of a proper connecting pin, another connecting pin that is larger in length than the proper connecting pin is erroneously fitted, at the time of connecting a prescribed connecting member to a pedal arm via a connecting pin by passing the connecting pin through a connection hole formed in the pedal arm and retaining the connecting pin with use of a retaining member, the connecting pin fitting assistive device having a contact face disposed in a vicinity of the connection hole of the pedal arm and located at a position apart from a side face of the pedal arm by a protrusion restriction dimension S, and the connecting pin fitting assistive device bringing a distal end of the connecting pin passed through the connection hole into contact with the contact face, so that a protruding dimension by which the connecting pin protrudes from the side face of the pedal arm is restricted to the protrusion restriction dimension S, and retention of the connecting pin by the retaining member is inhibited when the other connecting pin is used.

An equalizer device for a parking brake including an equalizer body that is formed by connecting paired side plates, which extend parallel to each other from a back plate so as to form a U-shape and a synthetic resin member that is fixedly arranged inside the equalizer body. The equalizer body includes paired engagement holes, paired insertion holes, and paired slits. Portions of the back plate, at which the engagement holes are formed, serve as the engagement portions. The synthetic resin member has a substantially flat plate shape that is arranged so as to face a portion of an inner face of a first side plate. The portion is a part of the U-shape, and extends parallel to the first side plate. The synthetic resin member includes paired gate portions and an engagement lug. The synthetic resin member is fitted to the equalizer body by the engagement lug.

A grip for a parking-brake operating lever includes a tubular-shaped grip main body which is press-fitted on a lever main body of the operating lever so as to be mounted on an outer circumferential periphery of the lever main body, a grip cover which is mounted on a part of a circumferential periphery of the grip main body, an engaging tab which projects from an inner surface of the grip cover and which is inserted through an insertion hole provided in the grip main body and is held in engagement with an engaging portion provided in the lever main body, such that the engaging tab is movable relative to the engaging portion in a longitudinal direction of the lever main body, and a fitting protrusion and recess which are respectively provided in the inner surface of the grip cover and the outer circumferential surface of the grip main body, and which are held in fitting engagement with each other for positioning the grip cover in a predetermined relative to the grip main body.

A parking brake operating apparatus (), comprises (a) a supporting member () disposed integral with a vehicle, (b) an operating member () disposed in the supporting member to pivot about a first axis, and actuates a parking brake by a braking operation from an initial position thereof, (c) a ratchet () having many engaging teeth () formed along an arc centering on the first axis, and disposed in the supporting member integrally therewith, and (d) a pawl () disposed in the operating member, riding over the many engaging teeth during the braking operation of the operating member, and engaging with the teeth in the brake actuating position of the operating member to prevent returning pivotal movement of the operating member toward the initial position side for maintaining an actuating state of the parking brake. In such parking brake operating apparatus, (e) a first engaging tooth () in the many engaging teeth of the ratchet over which the pawl rides first during the braking operation of the operating member from the initial position is determined higher in a height than other engaging teeth ().

Parking brake operating apparatus

A parking brake equalizer includes: a main body including side plates and a back plate to have a U shape, and accommodating output members; and a resin member disposed within the main body. The main body has engaging holes provided in the back plate, allowing connecting members connecting the output members and braking devices to extend outwardly of the main body while inhibiting the output members from passing therethrough; inserting holes provided in one of the side plates such that the output members are insertable into the main body therethrough; and slits provided to connect the inserting and engaging holes, for enabling the connecting members to be insertable therethrough. The resin member includes contact-preventing portions preventing contact of the output members with the side plates and gate portions projecting within the inserting holes and elastically deformable to allow insertion of the output members therethrough, while restoring their original shapes to prevent the output members from coming out through the inserting holes after the output members have been seated in the engaging holes.
