A granular pesticidal composition which comprises a pyrazolinone compound given by the formula (1): wherein Rrepresents a chlorine atom etc.; Rrepresents a chlorine atom etc.; Rrepresents a 1-methylethyl group etc.; and Rrepresents a C1-C4 alkoxy group etc.

A coated granule is obtained by coating a bioactive substance-containing granule with a urethane resin obtained by reaction of an aromatic diisocyanate with a polyol mixture containing a polyesterpolyol and a C2-C8 polymethylene glycol, wherein the molar ratio of the polyesterpolyol to the polymethylene glycol is 1:20 to 20:1. The granule is capable of controlling elution of the bioactive substance appropriately, and the urethane resin forming the coating film shows degradability in soil.

A microencapsulated insect growth regulating composition comprising an insect growth regulation active ingredient in a wall formed of polyurethane or polyurea, having an average particle diameter of 1 to 40 &#x3bc;m, a wall thickness of 0.005 to 0.5 &#x3bc;m, a ratio of a wall thickness/an average particle diameter of 0.0003 to 0.003, and a volume ratio of microencapsulated particles having a particle diameter of not less than 50 &#x3bc;m of not more than 20% by volume based on a total volume of microencapsulated particles sufficiently exerts efficacy of the active ingredient, i.e., the insect growth regulation activity.

A herbicidal composition comprising i) clethodim, ii) a sulfonate surfactant such as calcium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, iii) a polyoxyalkylene polyaryl ether such as polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene tristyryl phenyl ether and polyoxyalkylene distyryl phenyl ether, iv) an aromatic hydrocarbon, and optionally, v) an ester of fatty acid such as methyl oleate methyl palmitate, methyl laurate, isopropyl myristate, isopropyl palmitate, octyl laurate, octyl palmitate and butyl stearate gives good stability of the emulsion after it is diluted with water.

Herbicidal composition

A dehydration step provides a good storage stability to clethodium formulation. A herbicidal composition comprising clethodim as an active ingredient, wherein the content of water in the herbicidal composition is less than approximately 0.20% by weight provides a good storage stability of the clethodim in the composition.
