A solid pesticidal formulation, such as wettable powders, water dispersible granules and water soluble formulations, enveloped in a water soluble substance, such as polyvinyl alcohol and so on, wherein the solid pesticidal formulation comprises at least one water soluble hydroxy compound selected from the group consisting of alkanols, alkylene glycols, glycol monoethers, tri- or more valent alcohols, alcoholamines, hydroxyfatty acids and hydroxyfatty acid esters, or water soluble glycol ether acetates is excellent in stability after preserved.

There are discolsed a pesticidal composition containing a water-insoluble alginate, which is prepared by treating a solid composition containing (a) a pesticidally active ingredient which is a pest-controlling active ingredient or a plant growth-regulating active ingredient and (b) an alginic acid or a water-soluble alginate with an aqueous solution containing a divalent or polyvalent cation which can convert said alginic acid or water-soluble alginate into a water-insoluble alginate. Also disclosed is a pesticidal composition containing a water-insoluble alginate, which is prepared by coating a solid substance containing the pesticidally active ingredient with a water-insoluble alginate. The composition of the invention has excellent sustained-release effects of the pesticidally active ingredient.

Sustained release, solid pesticidal compositions comprising water

The water dispersible granule of the present invention is obtained by mixing a pesticide having a melting point of not more than 70.degree. C., a calcined product of precipitated hydrated silicon dioxide and a surface active agent, and granulating the resulting mixture by the wet granulation method or compaction method. This water dispersible granule is an excellent formulation of which the physical properties such as disintegrability-in-water, dispersibility, suspensibility, storage stability, etc. are good, and which is free from dust-scattering and is capable of being measured by volume.

A pesticidal composition comprising microcapsules, each microencapsulating an organophosphorus compound having a melting point of at least 15.degree. There is disclosed an insect growth regulator composition comprising (a) an insect growth-regulating active ingredient and, if necessary, another insecticidal active ingredient, (b) an organic substance having a solubility of not greater than 2% in water at 20.degree. C. and consisting of polyethylene glycol, polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene glycol, polyoxyethylene polyoxybutylene glycol, and polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene polyoxybutylene glycol, wherein the weight of the constituent (b) is equal to or greater than 3% based on the total weight, and a sum of the weight of the constituent (b) and the weight of the constituent (c) ranges from 20 to 98% based on the total weight, the constituent (b) and the constituent (c) being molten and then cooled to be solidified in manufacturing process of the insect growth regulator composition. The composition of the invention is the labor- and cost-saving composition because it releases an active ingredient gradually, and exterminates harmful and/or offensive pests and prevent the breeding thereof in water systems over a long time.

Solid insect growth regulating compositions

A liquid pesticidal composition including Acephate and one or more N-alkyl-2-pyrrolidones, and methods for stabilizing and inhibiting decomposition of Acephate by adding one or more N-alkyl-2-pyrrolidones to Acephate.
