A vehicle tutorial system includes a data storage device having at least one vehicle tutorial, an on-board identification sensor, an on-board vehicle communication device, a tutorial manager device located in a cloud computer and/or the remote device, and an on-board vehicle controller. The on-board vehicle controller is programmed to identify the user of the vehicle based on information from the on-board identification sensor, select the vehicle tutorial, select the remote device associated with the user of the vehicle, offer the vehicle tutorial to the user at a first time, and upon the user declining the offer at the first time, send the vehicle tutorial to the tutorial manager device. The tutorial manager device includes a processor programmed to offer the vehicle tutorial to the user at a time later than the first time on the on-board vehicle display or on the remote device.

The stored driving history information is referenced to determine a route travelled from the departure-point range to the target-point range, from among the routes travelled by the vehicle as the presentation route. Also, the vehicle information providing device alters the search conditions and the search is performed again, when there are no routes traveling from the departure location range to the destination range within a predetermined range.

A system and method of predicting future demand of a charging station include collecting probe data from a plurality of electric vehicles. The probe data includes charging activity history of the plurality of electric vehicles. A usage pattern of a charging station is determined based on the probe data for the charging station. A future demand for the charging station is predicted by applying the usage pattern to a factor associated with a requesting electric vehicle. The predicted future demand for the charging station is provided to the requesting electric vehicle.

A navigation system performs route guidance with map information, which is suited for use in navigating a vehicle or other movable object. Upon determination of a map image for an objective to be displayed in response to a user's command input, a standard surface area setting unitdivides a surface area of a whole area shown in the map image to be displayed into n equal divisions to assign resulting values to standard surface areas. Then, a particular designation selecting unitselects n pieces of relevant particular designations of areas, whose surface areas are closer to the standard surface areas, among areas involved in the map image for the objective to be displayed. Mobile telephone holding device

A low-cost compact radar apparatus measures a distance to a target and the relative speed of the target. The apparatus has a transmitter for transmitting a pulse signal and a receiver for receiving a reflected pulse signal from the target. The received signal is converted into a binary signal, which is sampled by a sampler and is accumulated in a cumulative storage unit. Addresses of the storage unit correspond to an interval between the transmission and reception of the pulse signal. According to the interval, the distance and relative speed of the target are calculated at high speed. The apparatus carries out many accumulation operations, to improve an S/N ratio and speedily detect even a weak reflected signal.
