The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rotation speed detection device which achieves improved detection accuracy regardless of a compressor and the operating state of the compressor, and enables the prevention of the breakage of a detection unit. A rotation speed detection device for a compressor, wherein a detection unit for detecting full blades and splitter blades that are blades approaching a compressor casing of the compressor in response to a change in the inductance of a magnetic field is provided. The detection unit is provided in an overlap region in which the full blades and the splitter blades that are all blades can be detected and the exposure pressure is in the range of a gauge pressure of one atmosphere or less.

Rotation speed detection device

An engine of the invention includes an engine main unit having cylinders, an intake line, an exhaust line, a supercharger, a turbo sensor detecting a rotational speed of the supercharger, a control device controlling, based on signal from the turbo sensor, an operating state of the engine main unit that has a correlation with the rotational speed of the supercharger, and a crank angle sensor detecting a rotation angle of a crankshaft. The control device recognizes timings at which the cylinders are in a top dead center state based on detection signals of the crank angle sensor and, also, makes a disconnection judgment for the turbo sensor at non-top dead center timings that are within one combustion cycle of the engine main unit and at which none of the plurality of cylinders are in a top dead center state.

Engine

In an engine equipped with a supercharger consisting of a compressor having a plurality of blades on a turbine shaft and a turbine, at least one index means provided on the turbine shaft or the plurality of blades, and a turbo angular velocity sensor, which detects a rotation of the index means and a rotation of the plurality of blades respectively and connected to an ECU. In the engine, also, a turbo angular velocity computing means, which calculates an angular velocity by obtaining a plurality of pulses per one rotation of the turbine shaft, is provided.

An engine includes an angular velocity detecting meansfor detecting a rotation angular velocity of a crankshaftof the engine, a torque generated by the engine detecting means for detecting a variability of the angular velocity amplitude obtained by the angular velocity detecting meansas the variability of the torque generated by the engine. The engine compensates a fuel injection quantity by comparing the angular velocity amplitude detected by the angular velocity detecting means with the adequate angular velocity amplitude.

A unit injector comprising a plunger, a high pressure fuel chamber defined by the tip face of plunger, and a fuel supply port open to the high pressure fuel chamber when the plunger is at the fuel compressing operation start position. A variable volume chamber filled with fuel is provided, and the volume of the variable volume chamber is controlled by a piezoelectric element. A spill valve is also provided for spilling out the fuel in the high pressure fuel chamber to stop the fuel injection, and is controlled by the fuel pressure in the variable volume chamber. A fuel charging port connected to the variable volume chamber is open to the plunger bore at a position remote from the tip face of the plunger on a side opposite to the high pressure fuel chamber, and the variable volume chamber is charged with fuel via the fuel charging port. A fuel trapping chamber is formed between the plunger and the plunger bore at a position between the fuel supply port and the fuel charging port to trap fuel leaked from the high pressure fuel chamber.
