A dentifrice composition containing as the active foaming agent (I) a monoalkyl phosphate ester salt and (II) a dialkyl phosphate ester salt, wherein said alkyls have 10 to 14 carbon atoms and the weight ratio of I:II is from 100:0 to 70:30.

A dentifrice composition comprising 0.5 to 5 wt.% of an alkali metal phosphate and 0.5 to 13 wt.% of monomorillonite having a composition (% by weight, calculated on an anhydrous basis) of 60.0 to 70.0% of SiO.sub.2, 20.0 to 30.0% of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, 2.0 to 5.0% of MgO, 2.0 to 5.0% of Na.sub.2 O and 0.0 to 2.0% of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 or hectorite having a composition (% by weight, calculated on an anhydrous basis) of 50.0 to 65.0% of SiO.sub.2, 20.0 to 30.0% of MgO, 2.5 to 5.0% of Na.sub.2 O, 0.6 to 2.0% of Li.sub.2 O and 0.0 to 2.0% of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3.

Dentifrice composition

A dentifrice composition comprising a water-soluble fluoride of the type customarily added to dentifrices as a caries-preventing agent, in an amount of 100 to 2,000 ppm calculated as fluorine, and 0.3 to 13% by weight of montmorillonite having the following composition (% by weight, calculated on an anhydrous basis):
