The invention seeks to provide a disc centering device of simple arrangement in a disc player for laying large and small size discs. One of paired, i.e., left and right, leading members and a trigger member also serve as a pair of small size disc stoppers, and the other leading member is provided with the sole function of correcting the deviation of the small size discs. Thus, the problem of the difficulty of positioning by providing the paired leading members with stopper function, is solved with a simple arrangement.

Disc centering device

The present invention relates to restrict a disk playing base plate against movement in back-and-forth directions, lateral directions and vertical directions relative to a housing by making use of the movement of a roller holder supporting a disk carrier roller. A pair of (i.e., left and right) side platesof the roller holder has roller holder contact parts for restricting movement in the back-and-forth, lateral and vertical directions, and the top and bottom plates of the housing have housing contact parts corresponding to the roller holder contact parts. When a disk carrier roller is in a disk carrying position, the front part of the disk playing base plate is restricted against movement in the back-and-forth, lateral and vertical directions relative to the housing.

Disk player

It is sought to simplify a disc centering device. Stopper portions for centering a small-size disc are provided on disc sensors, and guide portions are provided, which, when the disc sensors are moved with insertion of a large-size disc, engage with the disc sensors to move the stopper portions to the outside of a disc transport path.

When a roller holder attached to a floating chassis of the disk player rotates to raise a carrier roller from a disk non-carrying position to a disk carrying position, a convex portion of the roller holder is engaged with concave portions of the main chassis from above so as to fix the floating chassis to the main chassis in the back and forth directions as well as the right and left directions. The roller holder further rotates about a fulcrum to raise the floating chassis. As a result, the floating chassis is made to abut against another part of the main chassis from below to fix the floating chassis to the main chassis in the vertical direction.

A simplified device is provided for fixing a floating chassis to a main chassis. The floating chassis fixing device has a control member movably mounted on one side of the floating chassis, a push-in member for transferring a disc to a playing position and a disc guide for guiding the disc to the playing position, which are coupled to the control member such that they are interlocked. When no disc is loaded, the control member, the push-in member and the disc guide are engaged with the main chassis to fix the floating chassis to the main chassis.

Floating chassis fixing device for a disc player

To simplify the construction of a manual operating device for an auto-reverse cassette tape recorder, in which the feed direction of the tape is reversed by depressing an FF operating member and a REW operating member at a time. A FF/REW locking mechanism is rocked to a greater extent when a REW operating member is depressed alone than when an FF operating member is depressed alone. An auto-reverse mechanism is operated with the greater extent rocking movement of the FF/REW locking mechanism.

Manual operating device for auto-reverse cassette tape recorder

In an operation switching apparatus for a tape recorder installed on a car etc., the present invention intends to improve a construction of a control cam plate for controlling various operation modes, to simplify mechanisms installed in the apparatus, to stabilize a control operation and to easily design a reduced size of the apparatus. A reversible rotary drive motor (16) drives a control cam plate (80) forward and backward. On the control cam plate (80) are provided a head moving cam (90) and a mode selection cam (92). A tape direction switching mechanism (100) and a FF/REW switching mechanism (120) are controlled by a common mode selection cam (90). By the control cam plate (80), various operation modes are selectively carried out. The control cam plate (80) is operatively connected to a cassette loading cam plate (60). The control cam plate (80) and the cassette loading cam plate (60) are driven by a single drive motor (16). After a cassette loading, both cam plates are disconnected.

Operation switching apparatus for tape recorder with control cam plate

A tape cassette loading apparatus wherein various components can operate smoothly at suitable timings with a simple construction. A pivotal lever is pivoted at an initial stage when a tape cassette is inserted into a cassette holder, and a controlling member is moved a little forwardly by the pivotal lever. The movement of the controlling member is detected by a position detector, and a loading motor is controlled in response to a detection signal from the position detector. The controlling member is driven to move forwardly and backwardly by power of the loading motor, and a changing-over operation between loading and unloading of a tape cassette and a mode position changing-over operation of a head mounting plate are performed by the forward and backward movement of the controlling member.

Tape cassette loading apparatus

A rotary transmitting mechanism for an auto-reverse tape recorder having a change-over gear and associated charge-over supporting member disposed on the head-mounting plate is provided. The mechanism utilizes motor driven left and right transmission gears, a change-over gear supporting member movably supported on the head-mounting plate, and a change-over plate movably mounted on the upper surface of the chasis. When the change-over plate moves in either a left- or right-hand direction, the change-over gear supporting member is likewise moved to allow the change-over gear to be separated from the reel gear and transmission gear on one side while meshing with the other side's reel gear and transmission gear. To elastically absorb the excess movement of the change-over plate, the change-over gear supporting member has two elastic arms protruding from both sides. By providing such a mechanism, more efficiently and lower cost are obtained.

Rotary transmitting mechanism for auto-reverse tape recorder

Tape recorder able to actuate a plurality of mechanisms, such as an ejector mechanism, a head moving mechanism, and a high-speed rotation transmission mechanism, by the turning force of the motor for transporting tape. The cam gear is rotatable by the motor for transporting tape, a rocking lever is engaged with the cam gear, and an electromagnet for EJECT motion, an ejector mechanism connected operatively to the rocking lever by the electromagnet for EJECT motion, an electromagnet for PLAY motion, and a head moving mechanism connected operatively to the rocking lever by the electromagnet for PLAY motion are also provided. The turning force of the motor is transmitted to the ejector mechanism, or the head moving mechanism through the cam gear and the rocking lever. Another tape recorder includes a cam gear, a rocking lever, a head moving mechanism, electromagnets for PLAY, FAST FORWARD and REWIND motion, a member for changing the traveling direction of tape connected operatively to the electromagnets for FAST FORWARD and REWIND motion, a rotatable member supported rotatably to the member for changing the traveling direction of tape, and a high-speed rotation transmission mechanism connected operatively to the rotatable member. The turning force of the motor is transmitted to the head moving mechanism through the cam gear and the rocking lever, and also to the high-speed rotation mechanism through the head moving mechanism and the rotatable member.

Mode selecting mechanism for a tape recorder

A reversing device for tape recorders includes a pivotable elongate resilient member having one end connected with a reciprocally movable changeover plate so as to move concurrently therewith in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of a head mounting plate, and a pivoted central portion movable relative to the head mounting plate in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement to the head mounting plate. The elongate resilient member has a pair of abutment portions on opposite sides of the pivoted central portion. The head mounting plate has a pair of guide portions engageable with the abutment portions, respectively, in such a manner that in response to the position of displacement of the changover plate, either of the two abutment portions engages a corresponding one of the guide portions to cause the elongate resilient member to pivot in a direction to disengage one pinch roller from the corresponding capstan. The reversing device thus constructed in composed of a relatively small number of components and hence is simple in construction and can be manufactured at a low cost.

Reversing device having change-over mechanism for pinch rollers in tape

A bi-directional tape recorder wherein abrasion of portions of a magnetic head on the opposite sides of the air gap is reduced and 'soil' sticking to a tape contacting face of the magnetic head is automatically removed to attain elongation of the life of the magnetic head. The magnetic head is changed over between a pair of positions inclined with respect to a fixed axis perpendicular to the tape feeding direction by a shiftable member which is shifted in one or the other direction in response to reversing operation of the tape feeding direction. The magnetic head is connected to be moved in a widthwise direction of a magnetic tape by the shiftable member to allow reproduction of a pair of regenerative tracks of the magnetic tape. A pair of azimuth adjusting mechanisms are provided on the opposite sides of the magnetic head for making azimuth adjustment of the magnetic head independently of each other, and one of them is associated with the shiftable member.

Bi-directional tape recorder with pivoted magnetic head

A tape recorder having a controller for a movable member is able to control the movement of the member between two states by one electromagnet. The controller includes an electromagnet having first and second attracting parts which correspond to first and second attracted parts, a driving member which is driven through a fixed motion by a driving source, a combining part for moving which is installed on said movable member so as to separate from the driving member or be maintained in the combined state with said driving member by said first attracted part, a combining part for keeping position which is installed on said movable member to maintain said movable member in the second position by combining with the second attracted part and a leaving prevention part for preventing the leaving from said driving member of said combining part for moving when said movable member is at a position from halfway between said first and second positions to its second position. A separating part which is installed on said moving member or on said combining part for moving, can pull apart said first attracted part forcibly from said first attracting part after said combining part for moving has reached said leaving prevention part by movement of said movable member from said first position toward said second position and also before said part reaches said second position.

Controller for a movable member

A tape feeding direction controlling device for an automatic reversing tape recorder wherein operation of a first or a second high speed operating member during a reproducing operation will cause high speed feeding of a tape in the same or in the opposite direction. The tape feeding direction controlling device comprises a feeding direction controlling member, a high speed change-over member, and a pivotal member connected to be bodily moved by the feeding direction controlling member. Depending upon whether the pivotal member is at its first or second position, it is pivoted in opposite directions by the first or second high speed operating member, and pivotal motion of the pivotal member in one or the other direction moves the high speed change-over member from its neutral position to a first or a second position in which it causes a tape feeding mechanism to feed a tape at a high speed in one or the other direction.

Tape feeding direction controlling device for automatic reversing tape

A cassette tape recorder wherein a tape cassette ejecting mechanism and a magnetic head shifting mechanism are alternatively driven by a common driving mechanism of a simple construction including a tape feeding drive motor. The tape recorder includes a selectively engaging mechanism which operates by a predetermined amount when actuated, and a driving force transmitting member which is operated by the selectively engaging mechanism and moved between first and second positions by a head holding mechanism. When a tape cassette is to be ejected, the driving force transmitting member is moved to the first position in which it operates an ejecting mechanism. When a tape cassette is loaded into an operative position, the driving force transmitting member is moved to the second position in which it operates a head shifting mechanism to shift a magnetic head and a pinch roller to their operative positions at which they are thereafter held by the head holding mechanism. When the tape recorder is to be stopped, the head shifting mechanism is released from the head holding mechanism and returns to its inoperative position.
