A motion control device for a vehicle, including a braking means for applying a brake torque to a wheel of the vehicle and maintaining a traveling stability of the vehicle by controlling the braking means, the motion control device for the vehicle, includes a steering angular velocity obtaining means for obtaining a steering angular velocity of the vehicle, a yaw angular acceleration obtaining means for obtaining a yaw angular acceleration of the vehicle, and a control means for controlling the brake torque on the basis of the steering angular velocity and the yaw angular acceleration.

Motion control device for vehicle

A motion control device of a vehicle comprises: a steering angle controller which controls a steering angle of a steered wheel so that an actual turning controlling variable becomes a target turning controlling variable; and a braking force controller which controls a vehicle braking force so that the actual turning controlling variable becomes the target turning controlling variable. The control of the steering angle controller is stopped by detecting a timing with which the braking force controller detects an oversteering state of the vehicle to start a braking force control.

Motion control device of vehicle

A motion control device of a vehicle comprises: a steering angle controller which controls a steering angle of a steering wheel so that an actual turning control variable becomes a target turning control variable; and a braking force controller which controls a vehicle braking force so that the actual turning control variable becomes the target turning control variable. The braking force controller selectively uses, as a steering angle signal for control, a first steering angle signal which reflects a steering angle compensation quantity compensated by the steering angle controller at the time of the oversteering of the vehicle is reflected, and a second steering angle signal which does not reflect the steering angle compensation quantity.

A vehicle motion control apparatus includes a first means applying a first braking force to an outer wheel, relative to a turning direction, for suppressing oversteer when the vehicle is judged to be skidding in vehicle turning movement, a second means obtaining a state of a driver's steering operation in the vehicle turning movement, a third means applying a second braking force, set to be smaller than the first braking force, to a wheel located at a horizontally opposite side of the outer wheel to which the first braking force is applied, when the state of the driver's steering operation is judged to be in a steering turning back state, in which a steering wheel is turned from a turning direction to a reverse direction of the turning direction, based on the state of the driver's steering operation obtained by the second means.

Vehicle motion control apparatus

In rollover prevention control, an inner front wheel braking force is generated only in a front wheel located on the radially inner side of a turning locus in a relatively early stage where the absolute value of actual lateral acceleration is between a first value and a second value. When the absolute value becomes greater than the second value, in addition to the inner front wheel braking force, an inner rear wheel braking force is generated in a rear wheel located on the radially inner side of the turning locus. When the absolute value becomes greater than a third value, in addition to the inner rear wheel breaking wheel, an outer wheel braking force is generated in the front wheel located on the radially outer side of the turning locus. Thus, an increase in the roll angle is suppressed, and a desired turning locus tracing performance is maintained satisfactorily.

Motion control apparatus for vehicle

In a motion control system for a vehicle having four wheels including at least two driving wheels which is driven by a driving power source, first rolling liability judging means (step) judges whether or not the rolling liability detected by rolling liability detecting means (step, a lateral acceleration sensor) for detecting the rolling liability of the vehicle is equal to or greater than a first predetermined rolling liability, and rolling suppression control means (stepsto) suppresses the rolling liability of the vehicle by increasing the driving force of any of the driving wheels when the first rolling liability judging means judges that the rolling liability detected by the rolling liability detecting means is equal to or greater than the first predetermined rolling liability.

Motion control system for vehicle

This device is applied to a vehicle having a dual circuit brake conduit (so-called X-conduit) comprising a circuit for a front-right wheel and a rear-left wheel and a circuit for a front-left wheel and a rear-right wheel. This device obtains basic control volume Gb based upon a vehicle body speed and a road friction coefficient during an understeer restraining control or oversteer restraining control, and obtains yaw control volume Gd based upon a deviation between a target yaw rate and actual yaw rate. Then, it exerts braking force according to the basic control volume Gb respectively on two wheels of one circuit to which front wheel at the outer side of the turning direction and the rear wheel at the inner side of the turning direction belong, to thereby decelerate the vehicle, and further exerts braking force according to the yaw control volume Gd on either one wheel of the same circuit, thereby producing a yawing moment for making the turning state close to the target state.

In a posture control apparatus controlling the posture of a vehicle in yawing direction by independently controlling brakes of the wheels, intervention of a first oversteer control is carried out when the oversteering tendency of the vehicle is stronger than a first preset reference value, intervention of a second oversteer control, in which the control amount is lower than in the first oversteer control, is carried out when the oversteering tendency of the vehicle is not stronger than the first preset reference value, but stronger than a second preset reference value, and intervention of a third oversteer control, in which the control amount is lower than in the first oversteer control, is carried out when the oversteering tendency of the vehicle is not stronger than the second preset reference value, but stronger than a third preset reference value.

Vehicle posture control apparatus

In a posture control apparatus controlling the posture of a vehicle in yawing direction by independently controlling brakes of the wheels, intervention of a first understeer control suppressing an understeering tendency is carried out when the understeering tendency of the vehicle is stronger than a preset reference value. Moreover, intervention of a second understeer control, in which the control amount is lower than in the first understeer control, is carried out when the actual yaw rate does not make a predetermined change with respect to a change of a steering wheel angle, thus improving the sense of stability and the controllability felt by the driver.
