A brushed motor includes a rotation shaft, a commutator including a plurality of segments separated by a plurality of undercuts arranged at unequal intervals, an armature, a plurality of permanent magnets, a voltage equalizing line, a positive electrode brush, and a negative electrode brush. When Pz is the number of the permanent magnets and N is the number of the segments, a relationship of N=Pz(K&#x2212;0.5) is satisfied. Pz is an even number that is greater than or equal to four. K is a constant and is a natural number that is greater than or equal to two. The plurality of undercuts includes at least one set of undercuts arranged at an undercut interval that differs from a reference angle &#x3b8;z. The reference angle &#x3b8;z is specified by a relational expression of &#x3b8;z=(360 degrees/Pz)&#xb1;(360 degrees/2N).

Electric motor with brushes arranged at predetermined positions

A motor is provided that includes magnetic poles, an armature core, armature coils, a commutator, and power supply brushes. The armature core includes teeth arranged in the circumferential direction to extend in a radial pattern. The armature coils include inner layer coils and outer layer coils. Each of the inner layer coils is wound around radially proximal end portions of two circumferentially adjacent teeth or a radially proximal end portion of one of the teeth. The inner layer coils are arranged in the circumferential direction without overlapping each other in the radial direction. Each of the outer layer coils is wound around radially distal end portions of two circumferentially adjacent teeth by distributed winding. The outer layer coils are arranged radially outward of the inner layer coils and are arranged in the circumferential direction without overlapping each other in the radial direction. The circumferential center of the inner layer coils and the circumferential center of the outer layer coils are displaced in the circumferential direction.

Direct-current motor with improved branched tooth arrangement

A short-circuiting member for preventing a commutator from being elongated in the axial direction without increasing the types of different components. Each component includes outer circumference terminals arranged along an outer circumference, inner circumference terminals arranged along an inner circumference, and connection portions connecting corresponding outer and inner circumference terminals that are separated from each other by a predetermined angle in a circumferential direction. The outer and inner circumference terminals are substantially formed along the same plane. The components are laminated in a state in which the connection portions of one of the components are reversed to the connection portions of another one of the components. The outer terminals adjacent in a lamination direction are in contact with each other, the inner terminals adjacent in the lamination direction are in contact with each other, and the connection portions that are adjacent in the lamination direction are not in contact with each other.

Method of manufacturing short-circuiting member

A stator has four or more magnetic poles. A commutator has a plurality of segments arranged in the circumferential direction and a short-circuit conductor for short-circuiting predetermined segments from among these segments. Each segment has an angular width WS, and there is a gap of an angular width WU between the segments. A substantial angular width WB of each of an anode brush and a cathode brush satisfies (n&#x2212;1)(WS+WU)+WU&#x3c;WB&#x3c;n(WS+WU)+WU, where n is an integer no less than two. A plurality of coils are each connected to the corresponding one of the segments in order to form n closed loops. The closed loops each pass through the corresponding segments and are electrically independent of each other.

Direct current motor

A short-circuit member assembly for short-circuiting a plurality of segments arranged in a circumferential direction is disclosed. The short-circuit member assembly includes first and second short-circuit member groups that are superimposed with each other. The first short-circuit member group includes m first terminals, which are superimposed and joined with m first terminals included in the second short-circuit member group to form m first-terminal joint portions. The m first-terminal joint portions and the remaining first terminals in the short-circuit member groups are arranged in the circumferential direction and connected to the segments. All of the second terminals in the first short-circuit member group are superimposed and joined with all of the second terminals included in the second short-circuit member group.

Short-circuit member assembly, commutator, and motor

A commutator has a tabular holding portion defining a thickness direction. A plurality of segments are arranged in one end in the thickness direction of the holding portion in a radial pattern. Each of the segments has a slidable contact surface which is perpendicular to the thickness direction. A feeding brush is brought into slidable contact with the slidable contact surface. A tabular short-circuit unit short-circuits the segments to be set to the same electric potential with each other. The short-circuit unit is arranged parallel to the slidable contact surface. Accordingly, it is possible to enlarge a cross-sectional area which is perpendicular to a current passing direction of the coupling portion while suppressing an enlargement of a dimension in the axial direction of the commutator.

Commutator, direct current motor, and manufacturing method of commutator

A method of manufacturing a commutator main body which has a cylindrical insulating body, and a plurality of segments arranged in an outer circumference of the insulating body. A short-circuit member is arranged in an end in an axial direction of the insulating body. The short-circuit member has a plurality of first short-circuit pieces and a plurality of second short-circuit pieces. A tabular insulating portion covers first coupling portions of the first short-circuit pieces, and second coupling portions of the second short-circuit pieces. The insulating portion has a restriction recess, and the end in the axial direction has a restriction projection. The restriction projection is engaged with the restriction recess, whereby the movement of the short-circuit member in the circumferential direction with respect to the commutator main body is restricted. Accordingly, the assembly of the short-circuit member in the commutator main body is facilitated.

Method of manufacturing a commutator

The number of conductor members in a first conductor member group and the number of conductor members in a second conductor member group are equal to each other and are odd numbers. An inner terminal of each conductor member is displaced from an outer terminal of the same conductor member by 90 degrees with respect to the circumferential direction of the corresponding conductor member group. Each outer terminal of the first conductor member group is displaced from a corresponding one of the outer terminals of the second conductor member with respect to the circumferential direction of the first conductor member group.

Short-circuit member for a commutator and an armature

The number of conductor members in a first conductor member group and the number of conductor members in a second conductor member group are equal to each other. An inner terminal of each conductor member is displaced from an outer terminal of the same conductor member with respect to the circumferential direction of the corresponding conductor member group. Each outer terminal of the first conductor member group is displaced from a corresponding one of the outer terminals of the second conductor member with respect to the circumferential direction of the first conductor member group.

A commutator connected to armature coils includes circumferentially arranged segments, short-circuit conductors, and a surge absorbing element. The number of the segments is a multiple of the number of the armature coils. The segments include a plurality of pairs of segments. The segments in each pair are adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction. Each segment in each pair is connected to one of the ends of corresponding one of the armature coils. The number of the short-circuit conductors is the same as the number of the armature coils. Each short-circuit conductor short-circuits segments that are at the same potential to each other. Each short-circuit conductor is connected, either directly or via corresponding one of the segments, to the surge absorbing element, so that the surge absorbing element is electrically interposed between the ends of each armature coil.

Motor, commutator, short-circuit member, and a method for manufacturing the commutator

Short-circuiting member, commutator, and method of manufacturing short-circuiting member

An insulator is mounted in an armature core. Coils are wound around teeth of the armature core by way of concentrated winding. A power feeding member, which supplies a current to the coils, includes a connecting portion. A separating portion, which is provided in the insulator, is located in the teeth. The separating portion separates each of the coils to a first portion and a second portion. The connecting portion is electrically connected to the first portion. Accordingly, while preventing damage to the coils, the coils are easily connected to the power feeding member.

Armature, rotating electric machine, DC motor, and brushless motor

A motor has a field body having a number of field poles and an armature body having a number of coils which is placed outside of the above described field body in the radial direction. A commutator secured to the armature body has a number of segments to which the coils are respectively connected. The motor has a power supplying part for supplying a current to the coils and a brush holder which is secured to the field body. The brush holder contains an anode side brush device which makes contact with and slides against the commutator and the power supplying part and a cathode side brush device which makes contact with and slides against the commutator and the power supplying part. Accordingly, the efficiency of use of the coils can be increased.

Motor

A stator of a direct current motor includes six magnetic poles. An armature of the direct current motor includes an armature core having eight slots, a plurality of windings wound around the armature core as concentrated windings, and a commutator having twenty-four segments connected to the windings. The plurality of windings are connected to one another to form a single closed loop. The direct current motor further includes an anode power supply brush and a cathode power supply brush that slidably contact the segments. The aspect ratio, which is the ratio of the diameter of the armature core with respect to the length in the axial direction of the armature core is set to a range of 3.2 through 5.6. This increases the constraint torque/mass ratio of the direct current motor.
