An embodiment is a method of recycling carbon fibers that includes: preparing a carbon fiber reinforced plastic formed product that includes a carbon fiber reinforced plastic containing a carbon fiber and a resin; thermally decomposing or dissolving the resin in the carbon fiber reinforced plastic formed product by a first heating process or a first dissolving process; and winding while drawing the carbon fiber from the carbon fiber reinforced plastic formed product after the first heating process or the first dissolving process. The winding further includes thermally decomposing or dissolving a residue of the resin attached to the carbon fiber by a second heating process or a second dissolving process and adding a sizing agent to the carbon fiber after the second heating process or the second dissolving process.

Method of recycling carbon fiber

A battery provided in a vehicle and configured to supply electric power is cooled down by coolant the heat of which is exchanged with the heat of external air by a radiator. The radiator is provided near the battery and performs heat-exchange between the coolant and the external air taken in through introduction holes provided on a bottom face of the vehicle. Thus, even in a case where the radiator is provided in a vehicle floor portion so that the battery is upsized, it is possible to restrain a coolant pipe from being elongated. This accordingly makes it possible to improve mountability to the vehicle.

A propylene resin composition contains a specific propylene resin (A), a specific copolymer (B), an inorganic filler (C), a fatty acid amide (D), and carbon black (E), wherein the propylene resin (A) has a content of 52% to 72% by weight, the copolymer (B) has a content of 10% to 20% by weight, and the inorganic filler (C) has a content of 18% to 28% by weight. The total of weights of the propylene resin (A), the copolymer (B) of ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin having not less than 4 carbons, and the inorganic filler (C) is taken as 100% by weight. The fatty acid amide (D) is contained at 0.2 to 0.7 parts by weight, and the carbon black (E) is contained at 0.8 to 2.2 parts by weight, relative to 100 parts by weight of the total of the weights of (A), (B) and (C).

A method and apparatus for welding members formed of thermoplastic resin material, with high welding strength and small strength variations. A laser welding apparatusbrings a first memberformed of a transmissive thermoplastic resin that transmits a laser beam into contact with a second memberformed of an absorptive thermoplastic resin that absorbs the laser beam, and joins the thermoplastic resin members by melting their contact surfaceswith the laser beam. The laser welding apparatusfurther comprises a laser beam generatorfor irradiating the contact surfaces with the laser beam shone from the side of the first memberso as to melt at least one of the contact surfaces of the first member and the second member. The clamp mechanism is controlled with the calculated pressing force.

Method and apparatus for laser welding thermoplastic resin members

A curable composition comprises (A) an organic/inorganic composite in which a hydrolyzable silyl group and/or SiOH group-containing polysiloxane is bonded to a vinyl polymer through a Si&#x2014;C bond, and (B) an organic UV absorber having a molecular weight of at least 500 and a weight retentivity of at least 95% when held at 150&#xb0; C. for 24 hours in an open state. The curable composition is coated and cured to an article, whereby the article is endowed with satisfactory weathering resistance while minimizing coloration or degradation.
