A power supply voltage terminal and a ground terminal having a rectangular cross section are respectively connected to a first terminal hole of a power supply pattern and a second terminal hole of a ground pattern. An inductor is surface-mounted on a substrate, and has a rectangular parallelepiped shape in which an input end connected to a power supply pattern and an output end connected to a power supply relay face each other. A first electrode terminal of a capacitor is connected to the power supply pattern, a second electrode terminal is connected to the ground pattern, and constitutes a filter circuit together with the inductor. A wall surface of an input end of the inductor is arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis direction (x direction) of the first terminal hole. The inductor opposes the first terminal hole so as to include the entire length Wh of the first terminal hole within the width Wt of the input end in the x direction.

Electric power conversion apparatus and electric power steering apparatus using the same

A rear frame has a plurality of engaging portions engaged with connection members. An engagement surface of the specific engaging portion which is a part of the plurality of engaging portions is in a state in which the connection member is in contact with the connection member, and the material of the rear frame is exposed. Among the plurality of engaging portions, the other engaging portion other than the specific engaging portion and the outer wall portion of the rear frame exposed to the outside space have a coating.

Drive device

In an electronic device, a heat generation part pattern is connected to a heat generating element to heat from the heat generating element. A temperature detecting element is disposed adjacent to a first surface of a substrate. A direct under layer pattern is disposed on a second surface of the substrate opposite to the temperature detecting element in an area including a portion corresponding to the temperature detecting element. An interlayer connection pillar connects between the heat generation part pattern and the direct under layer pattern to conduct heat. The heat generated from the heat generating element is effectively conducted to the temperature detecting element through the heat generation part pattern, the interlayer connection pillar, and the direct under layer pattern, and thus the temperature detecting element accurately detects the temperature of the heat generating element.

In a rotation detection apparatus, a rotation-angle detector detects a rotation angle of a rotating body based on an output signal generated by a resolver. An exciting-signal generation circuit supplies an exciting signal for exiting the resolver to generate the output signal. An abnormality detection circuit detects an abnormality of an exciting-signal output terminal for outputting the exciting signal or an abnormality of an exciting-signal line for transmitting the exciting signal. A power-supply stopping circuit stops a power supply to the exciting-signal generation circuit when the abnormality detection circuit detects an abnormality of the exciting-signal output terminal or detects an abnormality of the exciting-signal line.

Apparatus and method for detecting rotation

A motor controller including an inverter including plural switching elements that are subjected to PWM control to generate sine waves of plural phases, a motor including a stator coil supplied with the sine waves thus generated so that rotational magnetic field is generated in the stator coil, and a rotor that is rotationally driven by the action of the rotational magnetic field generated by the stator coil, a storage unit for detecting the sine waves of the respective phases generated in the inverter and storing a correction amount for each phase that is calculated on the basis of the detection result so that the sine waves of the respective phases are coincident with one another and a correcting unit for correcting a PWM signal for carrying out the PWM control on the switching elements on the basis of the correction amount thus calculated.

Motor controller and steering device

An electronic control system comprises a power source, a controller and a power source relay for supplying and cutting off a supply of power to the controller. A fusion detecting circuit includes a capacitor and a first resistor connected to the power source relay to detect fusion of the power source relay. A second resistor is connected in parallel to the first resistor. A switching element is connected to one of the first resistor and the second resistor in series. The switching element is set to an ON-state when the power source relay is set to the OFF-state, thereby discharging a charge accumulated in the capacitor through the first resistor and the second resistor.

Electronic control system having power source relay fusion detecting circuit

A brushless motor driving device having a current detecting unit for detecting a phase-current of a brushless motor, a voltage detecting unit for detecting a phase voltage of the brushless motor, and a signal input portion to which the detection value of the phase-current and the detection value of the phase-voltage are input and which has plural input terminals arranged sequentially. The detection values of phase currents or detection values of phase voltages which are different in characteristic are input to adjacent input terminals.

Brushless motor driving device

A transmission-ratio-varying steering apparatus has a control circuit capable of storing a rotation angle between input and output shafts in a non-volatile memory when the generator outputs a surge voltage. The transmission-ratio-varying steering apparatus includes clamp means provided between a battery and generator on one side and a power-supply circuit on the other side. The clamp means clamps a surge voltage generated by the generator to a third predetermined voltage higher than a first predetermined voltage but lower than a second predetermined voltage. If a surge voltage higher than the second predetermined voltage is generated by the generator, a self-protection function of the power-supply circuit can be prevented from cutting off power being supplied to a microcomputer and an EEPROM.

Transmission-ratio-varying steering apparatus

A generating apparatus for a vehicle is composed of an AC generator, a battery and a rectifying bridge circuit. The bridge circuit is composed of high-side elements and low-side elements. One of the low-side rectifying elements which is connected to an armature coil generating the giant-pulse-voltage is turned on to circulate the giant-pulse-voltage in the armature coils, thereby suppressing the giant-pulse-voltage.

Generating apparatus for vehicle

In a power generating system having an AC power generator, a quantity which is related to the state of power generation of the power generator and varies according to the supply of a leading phase current to the power generator, is detected. When the passage of the leading phase current through each armature winding is determined as necessary based on the detected status quantity, the leading phase current is supplied to each armature winding (an increase in the amount of supply of the leading phase current is included). If passage is determined as unnecessary, then the supply of the leading phase current to each armature winding is stopped (a decrease in the leading phase current is included). If so, then a change (improvement) in the state of power generation such as an increase in output or the like due to the above supply can be achieved by supplying the leading phase current thereto when its change is required. When the above change is unnecessary, the supply of the leading phase current thereto can be stopped to suppress a defective condition incident to the supply of the leading phase current thereto, particularly, the rate of change in output current, i.e., an increase in ripple. Owing to the above construction, the supply of the leading phase current to the power generator can be achieved by a simple circuit configuration and the state of power generation can be improved.

Vehicle power generating system

An output controlling apparatus for a vehicle generator includes MOSFETs for full-wave rectification of a voltage output by the generator, a MOSFET for turning the flow of a field current on and off and a voltage controller for controlling the MOSFETs to sustain the voltage of a battery at a fixed value. In this configuration, the thermal resistance between the MOSFETs is set at a value smaller than the thermal resistance between the voltage controller and the MOSFETs. In addition, the MOSFETs are fixed on a common good heat conductive substrate to reduce the thermal resistance between the MOSFETs. In this way, the accuracy of the voltage controller is prevented from deteriorating and, at the same time, the maximum temperature of the MOSFETs can be reduced.
