An image reading device may include a conveyance path; a conveyance mechanism; and a first image sensor and a second image sensor that are disposed on both sides of the conveyance path. The conveyance mechanism may include a driving source; a pair of first conveyance rollers located upstream of a first and second image read position; and a pair of second conveyance rollers located downstream of the first and second image read position. The pair of first conveyance rollers may include a first drive roller; and a first opposing roller. The pair of second conveyance rollers may include a second drive roller and a second opposing roller.

Image reading device for conveying and reading card like medium

A card reader may include a card holder and a card ejection mechanism for moving the card holder. The card ejection mechanism includes a connection arm connecting the main body frame with the card holder, a solenoid for bending the connection arm, and an arm urging member urging the connection arm. When the solenoid is switched to a non-energized state, the solenoid pushes the connection arm and the connection arm is changed from an extended posture to a bent posture. The connection arm in the extended posture is restricted from bending to an opposite side to the bent posture side and, in a state that the connection arm is in the extended posture, the arm urging member applies an urging force to the connection arm so that the connection arm is bent to an opposite side to the side of the bent posture.

Card reader

A card reader may include a fixed body having a card moving passage, a pulling-out prevention member supported by the fixed body and structured to turn between a closing position and an open position, and structured to prevent pulling-out of the card at the closing position, a first urging member which urges the pulling-out prevention member toward the closing position, a lock member to prevent turning of the pulling-out prevention member toward the open position, and a lock member drive mechanism. The lock member may be driven by the lock member drive mechanism and swung so as to be switched from one of an unlocking attitude permitting turning of the pulling-out prevention member toward the open position and a locking attitude interfering with the pulling-out prevention member and preventing turning of the pulling-out prevention member toward the open position to the other of the unlocking attitude and the locking attitude.

A card reader may include a card insertion port; a card conveying passage; and a card lock mechanism. The card lock mechanism may include a motor; a rotation shaft; a gear provided with a power transmission gear part and a ratchet gear part; a clutch mechanism disposed between the rotation shaft and the gear; a ratchet member to engage with the ratchet gear part; a cam member held by the rotation shaft; a torque limiter which is disposed between the rotation shaft and the cam member; an urging member which urges the ratchet member in a direction where the cam follower is contacted with the cam face; a stopper for restricting a turnable range of the cam member; and a lock member.

A card storage and ejection module may include a card storage cassette comprising a plurality of card storage parts each of which stores one card; a lifting mechanism structured to lift and lower the card storage cassette; and a support frame which supports the card storage cassette. The plurality of the card storage parts may be disposed so as to be overlapped with each other in an upper and lower direction. The lifting mechanism may include a parallel link mechanism having at least two link arms which connect the support frame with the card storage cassette and are disposed in an aligned state in a horizontal direction so as to be parallel to each other for lifting and lowering the card storage cassette in a state that a horizontal posture of the card storage cassette is maintained.

Card storage and ejection module

A card reader may include a card passage, a magnetic head to abut with a magnetic stripe of the card, and an IC contact block having IC contact springs to contact with external connection terminals of an IC chip of the card. The magnetic head is disposed in a front side portion of the card reader so that a gap of the magnetic head faces the card passage from a lower side, and the IC contact block is disposed in a rear side portion of the card reader so that the IC contact springs face the card passage from an upper side. The card passage is formed in a straight shape but is inclined to a lower side as going to the rear side.

A processing device for a medium may include magnetic heads which face a medium transport channel from a lower side, magnetic heads which face the medium transport channel from an upper side, pad rollers which are disposed so as to face each of the magnetic heads, a movement mechanism for evacuating pad rollers from the medium transport channel, and a movement mechanism for evacuating pad rollers from the medium transport channel. In the transport direction for the recording medium, the magnetic head and the magnetic head are offset from each other, and the distance between the magnetic head and the magnetic head in the direction is shorter than the length of the range for recording of magnetic data recorded upon a magnetic stripe of the recording medium.

Medium processing apparatus and control method for medium processing apparatus

Provided is a card reader capable of increasing visibility over the prior art for a location into which a card is actually inserted. A card reader is provided with a main body frame constituting a card passage through which an inserted card passes, and a light source for illuminating the interior of the card passage. With this card reader, the light source is illuminating the interior of the card passage through which the card passes, and therefore, it is possible to brighten the interior of the card passage through which the card passes. Therefore, it is possible to brighten the location into which the card is actually inserted so that it is easier to visually confirm the location into which the card is actually inserted.

A card reader with magnetic heads, an anterior frame, a main body frame, a control board and a sealing member formed to be annular. The main body frame has a head arrangement in which the magnetic heads are positioned, a sac-like card cage in which the rear end of the inserted card is housed, and a seal arrangement which is formed between the head arrangement and the card cage and in which the sealing member is arranged. The anterior frame has a substantially cylindrical cylinder portion formed to connect to a front face portion. A rear end side portion of the cylinder portion (crushing portion) crushes the sealing member in the radial direction from the outer circumferential side of the sealing member. The control board is arranged outside the card cage, and the inner circumferential face of the seal crushing portion is formed in a tapered shape.

In a card reader having a card pulling-preventing function, provided is a card reader that can achieve energy savings. More specifically, a card readeris equipped with a card moving passagein which a card is moved, a pulling-preventing memberwhich is configured to be capable of turning to a closed position to close the card moving passageand to an open position to open the card moving passageand which prevents the pulling of the card at the closed position, an urging memberfor urging the pulling-preventing memberto the closed position, a turning-regulating member which regulates the turning of the pulling-preventing memberby abutting on the pulling-preventing memberat the closed position, and a solenoidwhich moves the turning-regulating memberto a turning-regulating position at which the turning of the pulling-preventing memberis regulated and to a turning position at which the turning of the pulling-preventing memberis enabled.

A card issuing machine may include a card storage part, a card reader part, a housing accommodating the card storage part and the card reader part, and a lock mechanism for locking the housing in a closed state. The housing may include a first case body provided as at least a front face of the card issuing machine, a second case body structured to cover an upper side of the card storage part, and a third case body structured to cover an upper side of the card reader part. The third casing may be engaged with the first casing so that the third casing does not move away from the first casing at the upper, lower, left, right, and front sides, and may also be engaged with the second casing so that the third casing does not move away from the first casing at the rear side.

Card issuing device

Provided is a sheet switch suitable as a sensing mechanism to sense the removal of a subordinate device from a host device. Specifically, the sheet switch is provided with a contact electrode formed in a dome shape with a conductive metal, a counter electrode disposed facing the contact electrode, and a metal sheet made of metal that is disposed on the opposite side of the counter electrode from the side facing the contact electrode with insulating members interposed therebetween. The sheet switch becomes conductive when the contact electrode and the counter electrode touch.

A tamper detection mechanism for detecting tampering when a sub system is removed from a host device may include a screw member that may include a head portion, a major diameter shaft portion and a minor diameter shaft portion. The tamper detection mechanism may also include a through hole provided in the sub system, a lever member, and a detection switch. The lever member may withdraw from said through hole as it is pushed by the major diameter shaft portion when the screw member is tightly screwed, and may advance into the through hole when the screw member is loosened. The detection switch may detect whether the screw member is tightly screwed or loosened based on withdrawal or advancement of the lever member.
