An image recording apparatus includes an unwinder, a recorder, a take-up part, a first supporter, a surface modifying part, and a second supporter. The unwinder unwinds a base material from a roll. The recorder records an image onto a surface of the base material. The take-up part takes up the base material on which an image has been recorded by the recorder. The first supporter supports the base material that is being conveyed in a direction away from the recorder after having been unwound from the unwinder. The surface modifying part modifies a surface of the base material by energizing the surface of the base material that has passed through the first supporter. The second supporter supports the base material that is being conveyed in a direction toward the recorder after having passed through the surface modifying part. The second supporter is more distant from the unwinder than the first supporter is. The unwinder is disposed on at least one of a virtual line segment that connects the surface modifying part and the recorder and a normal to the line segment.

Image recording apparatus and base material supply apparatus

A sheet printing plate material includes a plastic support having optical transparency for infrared light, and at least a hydrophilic layer and a thermosensitive image formed layer formed on the plastic support, wherein the sheet printing plate material is wound on a drum having surface reflectance of 0.1 to 10% at a wavelength to be used, and the sheet printing plate material is used for a image recording apparatus where the drum is rotated to expose an image data with a light source so that an image is recorded.

Depending on the lateral width thereof, an image recording material P is stably positioned on a recording drum, employing two positioning pins with an appropriate pitch therebetween. Non-contacting portions prevent any irrelevant positioning pins from coming into contact with the material P. Thereafter, as the aforementioned end of the material P abuts with a positioning pin, accurate positioning occurs. Each positioning pinincludes a tapered portion having a reference taper angleT. When a leading-end clampclamps the aforementioned end, the material P comes in contact with the tapered portion, with a, reduced friction force against the positioning pin, thereby preventing deformation of the material P.

Drum surface scanner and method for plate size check

An image recording apparatus includes two recording material storage sections arranged vertically, each having a magazine, a cutter and a pair of take-out rollers, a transport device having a pair of transport rollers for transporting a recording material, the transport device supporting the recording material in a horizontal state, and a recording drum for holding the recording material on a peripheral surface thereof. The apparatus further includes a tilt mechanism for tilting the transport device to set the pair of transport rollers to a position opposed to the recording drum, and an image recorder for recording an image on the recording material held by the recording drum.

Image recording apparatus

A punch unit includes punch blocks supported by an arm through support plates. The arm has, arranged thereon, a motor for rotating a drive rod, a detector for detecting rotation angles of the drive rod, and a sensor for detecting a forward end of a recording material. The punch unit is movable by a moving mechanism including support members arranged at opposite ends of the arm, slide shafts and ball screws connected to the support members, and a pulse motor for driving the ball screws through a synchronous belt and synchronous pulleys.

An image recording apparatus for recording an image on a sensitive material mounted on a drum by emitting light beams to the sensitive material. The apparatus includes a cylindrical drum for supporting the sensitive material mounted peripherally thereof, a drive mechanism for rotating the drum with a rotary shaft disposed on an axis of the drum, guide members formed in opposite end surfaces of the drum and extending circumferentially about the rotary shaft, a pair of counterweights movable along each of the guide members, a moving mechanism for engaging each of the counterweights and moving relative to the drum, thereby to move the counterweight along the guide member, and a fixing mechanism for fixing the counterweight to the guide member in time of image recording.

Front end clamps are disposed on the cylindrical surface of a recording drum, and rear end clamps are attached in any of a plurality of positions at the cylindrical surface of the recording drum. A controller controls a front end clamp opening/closing device to open the front end clamps and controls a pair of rollers to feed a plate held on a plate carry-in path. The controller also controls the front end clamp opening/closing device to close the plate fixing portion of the front end clamps to fix the front end of the plate on the cylindrical surface, controls a driving device to rotate the recording drum for a predetermined amount, and controls a rear end clamp attaching/detaching device to attach the rear end clamps to the cylindrical surface to fix the rear end of the plate on the recording drum cylindrical surface.

Drawing apparatus and method of attaching balance weights

Annular grooves are formed on both end surfaces of a recording drum to be rotated, and two balance weights are disposed inside each of the annular grooves. The balance weight is composed of a magnet, and is attracted to the end surface of the recording drum by its magnetic force. The two balance weights are arranged at a predetermined attaching angle such that an unbalance force caused by centrifugal forces developed by a plate and a movable clamp, for example, is canceled. Every time the size and the mass of the plate are changed, the positions of the two balance weights are adjusted, so that forced vibration in the recording drum is restrained.
