An oil absorption retarder containing alginic ester and fried foods produced by using the oil absorption retarder. The oil absorption retarder of this invention can efficiently retard oil absorption during frying, which results in providing fried foods with lowered oil contents.

The present invention provides a magnetic disc apparatus comprising: a magnetic disc and a signal processor having functions of (i) setting measurement points at an interval which is smaller in the vicinity of an initial position of a window than in the vicinity of the maximum modification position; (ii) shifting the window from the initial position up to the maximum modification position; (iii) each time the window position is shifted according to the aforementioned interval, reproducing a check data recorded on the magnetic disc, so as to measure an error rate; and (iv) using the error rate measurement results so as to obtain an optimal position of the window.

Magnetic disc apparatus

A magnetic disk apparatus including a head disk assembly, a servo control circuit, a head positioning microprocessor, a sector pulse generating circuit, a head selection circuit, and a main controller. The head selection circuit selects any one of disk media in a data read/write operation. The servo control circuit controls an operation of a head positioning motor. The head positioning microprocessor controls an operation of the servo control circuit based on an external command. The sector pulse generating circuit has a plurality of sector counters for counting a clock signal and generating sector pulses having different periods, selects one of the sector pulses from the sector counters based on an input selection signal, and outputs the selected sector pulse always with a predetermined separation or longer. The main controller controls an information write/read operation through the head selection circuit based on the sector pulse output from the sector pulse generating circuit, and outputs a selection signal to the sector pulse generating circuit, thereby performing switching control of the sector pulse.

Magnetic disk apparatus comprising means for changing a sector period

A head positioning control device for a magnetic disk apparatus has a head selection circuit for selecting one of a plurality of magnetic heads based on an external head address, a servo control circuit for controlling a movement of a selected magnetic head to a prescribed position through a head positioning motor. A head positioning control unit sets prescribed control information in the servo control circuit based on an external instruction. A head address switching device is connected to the head selection circuit for receiving a head switching signal set by an external instruction, the head address and a burst-area information, and sending a prescribed head address to the head selection circuit. A sector pulse generator sends a sector pulse corresponding to a zone in which the magnetic head is positioned to the head address switching means. The head address switching means has a latch which, when a burst-area information is input, switches and outputs a head address input during an inputting of the burst-area information after the burst-area information becomes inactive. A first delay circuit outputs a signal flag indicating an existence of a head switching signal with the same timing as that of the head address output by the latch circuit. A second delay circuit outputs a signal flag indicating a completion of head address switching after a next burst-area information is read.

Head positioning control device for a magnetic disk apparatus

A hard-disk storage apparatus is provided with a plurality of stacked magnetic recording disks each of which is provided with a plurality of tracks. Each of the tracks is specified by a cylinder address and a physical data-head address. Logical data-head addresses applied to the hard-disk are converted into the corresponding physical data-head address according to a conversion table pre-recorded within a non-volatile memory. Further, offset parameters of each data-head over two selected cylinders at predetermined temperatures are previously stored within the non-volatile memory. A microprocessor unit calculates offset parameters of all the data-heads over each of the tracks at a given temperature preferably measured within the hard-disk storage assembly. These offset parameters are utilized to correct the displacement of each data-head over a given track due to temperatures.
