A controller of a fan coupling device includes: an acquisition unit that acquires an acceleration parameter and a deviation parameter; a control unit that controls a regulation mechanism; a prediction unit that predicts that hunting occurs in the rotation speed of the fan, when an operating point of the fan expressed with the deviation parameter and the acceleration parameter belongs to a predicted region; and a restraining unit that executes, when the hunting is predicted to occur, a hunting restraining process of executing at least one of lowering an integral gain of a feedback control to be lower than when the hunting is not predicted to occur and increasing a derivative gain of the feedback control to be higher than when the hunting is not predicted to occur.

Controller of fan coupling device

An engine cooling device has a mechanical water pump, a flow rate control valve having a valve body of which a relative rotational position is changed by a motor, and a control unit that performs drive control of the motor to change the relative rotational position of the valve body to a target relative rotational position. The control unit performs protection control for setting the relative rotational position where a withstanding pressure limit rotational speed is equal to or higher than a current engine rotational speed, as a target operating position of the valve body of the flow rate control valve when the engine rotational speed rises, and performs retreat control for reducing a set range of the target relative rotational position to a prescribed retreat operation range when the supply voltage of the in-vehicle electric power supply has dropped.

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, the internal combustion engine including a plurality of cylinders, and the control apparatus including: an electronic control unit configured to: a) determine whether or not acceleration of a crank shaft at compression top dead center is equal to or greater than a threshold value; b) determine that a compression loss has occurred in the cylinder, when the acceleration of the crank shaft is equal to or greater than the threshold value; and c) prohibit the determination of compression loss, when acceleration of rotation of the crank shaft at compression top dead center has occurred a first specific number of times consecutively in the plurality of cylinders.

Control apparatus for internal combustion engine

When an ECU determines that an accelerator is 'ON' and a brake is 'ON', the ECU determines whether or not the brake previously depressed is &#x201c;OFF&#x201d;. When the ECU determines that the brake previously depressed is &#x201c;OFF&#x201d; and that the vehicle is in the reduced speed state, the vehicle control apparatus is configured to execute an engine output reduction control process under the condition that the simultaneous depressions of the accelerator and brake pedals continues for less than 10 seconds and the vehicle speed is not less than 7 km/hr. Vehicle control apparatus

An apparatus for controlling an air-fuel ratio in a lean burn internal combustion engine, such that three different air-fuel ratio zones are set, the three zones being an ultra lean zone with a low load, a medium lean zone with a medium load, and a non-lean zone with a high load. When the engine is under low load conditions, a map FLEANPM is selected to obtain an ultra lean air-fuel ratio based on detected intake pressure PM values and engine speed NE. When the engine is under medium load conditions, a map FLEANTA is selected to obtain a medium lean air-fuel ratio based on a detected throttle opening values TA and engine speed NE. When the engine is under high load, conditions the lean correction control is canceled, thereby obtaining a theoretical air-fuel ratio or an air-fuel ratio smaller than the theoretical air-fuel ratio, and when the engine remains at a point in the medium lean zone, the air-fuel ratio decreases gradually toward the theoretical air-fuel ratio as time elapses.

Air-fuel ratio control apparatus for an internal combustion engine

A lean burn internal combustion engine has a basic fuel injection amount calculated and multiplied by a lean correction factor, the resulting amount controls the air fuel ratio of the engine. The lean correction multiplied by factor is calculated from a first map based on intake pressure and engine speed. However, when the degree of opening of the throttle valve is larger than a predetermined value, a second correction map based on the degree of opening of the throttle valve and engine speed is used to obtain the lean correction factor. When the second correction map is employed, an ignition timing map based on the degree of opening of the throttle valve and engine speed is used to obtain an ignition timing; instead of the usual ignition timing, based on intake pressure and engine speed.

Lean burn internal combustion engine

An air-fuel ratio control device for an engine, by which the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine is changed. The device set the air-fuel ratio to a lean mixture when the engine load is lower than a set load value and predetermined set speed, and when the engine load become higher than the set load value, or the engine speed exceeds the set speed, the device switches the air-fuel ratio from a lean mixture to a rich mixture to obtain higher engine output. The set load value is varied in accordance with the engine speed such that it is reduced as the engine speed is increased.

Air-fuel ratio control device for an engine

A traction control device comprising a cylinder number determining device for determining the number of cylinders to which the supply of fuel is to be stopped, in accordance with the speed difference between a rotating speed of a free running wheel and a rotating speed of a driven wheel. A change of an actual number of cylinders to which the supply of fuel is actually stopped by a fuel stop controlling device is prohibited until a predetermined time has elapsed from a time at which the actual number of cylinders was changed.

A basic map for the heater power, which is based on the intake pressure and engine speed, is provided, and a correction map for the heater power is provided for reducing the heater power from the value obtained from the basic map when the lean map based on the intake pressure and engine speed is employed for obtaining the lean air-fuel mixture, to prevent thermal damage to the sensor element.

A slip control system for a vehicle provided with an internal combustion engine having a knocking control system for controlling an ignition timing retarding amount in accordance with a degree of knocking detected by a knocking sensor mounted on a body of the engine. The slip control system controls the torque applied to drive wheels of the vehicle in accordance with a degree of slip generated at the drive wheels. When the engine is under a fuel cut operation, the output level from the oxygen sensor is compared with a first predetermined threshold level or with a second predetermined threshold level which is lower than the first threshold level.
