A sealing material for optical elements with excellent transparency, crack resistance, and heat resistance which can produce a cured product of the sealing material and a sealed optical element are provided. The sealing material for optical elements comprising a compound with a ladder structure, which contains a repeating unit of the following formula (A) in the molecule as a major component, the compound being obtained by condensing a compound (1) shown by the formula, RSi(OR)(X), and a compound (2) shown by the formula, RSi(OR)(X), at a molar ratio of 1:9 to 10:0 in the presence of a phosphoric acid catalyst, wherein Rrepresents a group having a reactive functional group, Rrepresents an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, Rand Rindividually represents an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, Xand Xindividually indicate a halogen atom, p and q individually represent an integer from 0 to 3, and l, m, and n individually represent 0 or an arbitrary integer, provided that l and n are not 0 at the same time.

A release sheet is provided. The release sheet comprises: a base material having one surface and the other surface; and a release agent layer provided on the one surface of the base material. The release agent layer contains substantially no silicone compound and is constituted of a polymer material containing a polyolefine-based thermoplastic elastomer of which density is in the range of 0.80 to 0.90 g/cm. A Young's modulus of the release agent layer is in the range of 0.1 to 0.3 GPa. An arithmetic mean deviation of a profile Ra of the other surface of the base material is in the range of 100 to 1800 nm. This makes it possible to sufficiently suppress adverse effects on electric components and the like, prevent blocking from occurring when the release film is wound up in a rolled form and stored in this state, and exhibit superior releasability. A pressure-sensitive adhesive article is also provided.

A film having an antistatic releasing agent layer comprising fiber-shaped carbon and disposed on at least one of the faces of a substrate film, a release film having a releasing agent layer disposed on one face of a substrate and an antistatic layer which comprises a cured product of a resin composition of the active energy ray curing type comprising fiber-shaped carbon or a combination of fiber-shaped carbon and an electrically conductive macromolecular compound and is disposed on the other face of the substrate film, and processes for producing the films. The release films have a relatively small thickness of the antistatic layer, exhibit the stable antistatic function, are excellent in smoothness, do not adversely affect hardening of the resin releasing agent, exhibit the excellent releasing function and provide the excellent productivity.

A release film that can be used as a carrier film for a green sheet used in a laminated ceramic capacitor is provided. The release film includes a base material having both major surfaces, a releasing agent layer provided on one major surface of the base material, and an antistatic layer provided on the other major surface of the base material, wherein the releasing agent layer and the antistatic layer are mainly composed of the same material, and when the surface roughness of the outer surface of the releasing agent layer is defined as Ra[nm] and the surface roughness of the outer surface of the antistatic layer is defined as Ra[nm], the relations of Ra&#x2266;15 and Ra&#x2266;Raare satisfied. The release film is capable of preventing occurrence of blocking when being wound in a rolled form for storage and generation of static electricity when being unwound.

The present invention provides a process for producing a polysilsesquioxane graft polymer (1) which includes applying ionizing radiation or heat to a mixture including a polysilsesquioxane compound (2) and a vinyl compound (3), a polysilsesquioxane compound including an iniferter group, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive and a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet using the polymer. According to the present invention, a process for producing a polysilsesquioxane graft polymer which may be used as a pressure-sensitive adhesive exhibiting excellent heat resistance and cohesive force, and the like are provided. In the formula, A represents a linking group, Rrepresents a hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent, Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or the like, Rrepresents a polar group or the like, Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or the like, kto krepresent arbitrary positive integers, 1 to n represent zero or an arbitrary positive integer (excluding the case where 'm=n=0'), and Q represents an iniferter group.

Provided is a release sheet which is non-silicone-based and has a good releasability from a layer of a pressure sensitive adhesive and which has a stable antistatic property without being influenced by the air environment and is free of bleeding out of ionic substances derived from an antistatic agent. The release sheet is prepared by providing an undercoat layer containing a polyurethane-based resin and 0.1 to 45% by mass of a lithium salt-based antistatic agent and a layer of a rubber-based release agent formed by coating and drying a liquid containing a release agent in order on a substrate.

An acrylic resin type release agent composition comprising (A) a polymer which comprises a (meth)acrylate containing a constituent unit represented by the following formula (1) and (B) a crosslinking agent which comprises an amino resin, wherein a weight ratio (A)/(B) is in the range of 99.99/0.1 to 30/70: wherein Ris a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and Ris a long-chain alkyl group of 12 to 28 carbon atoms. Also described herein is a release liner having a release layer made of the release agent composition. The acrylic resin type release agent composition exhibits excellent solvent resistance, heat resistance and adhesion to substrate without exerting evil influence on electronic parts and the like, and is capable of controlling peel strength.

An adhesive sheet including an adhesive composition disposed on at least one face of a film of acetyl cellulose, the adhesive sheet being produced by coating a solution of the adhesive composition on the face of the film and drying the solution to form a laminate, the adhesive composition containing (A) a copolymer of (meth)acrylic esters,(B) a crosslinking agent and (C) a phenol compound. The adhesive composition in the adhesive sheet serves to suppress degradation of easily hydrolyzable materials by hydrolysis, improve durability and provides excellent stress relaxation without using plasticizers.

Provided is a hard coat film which has an inorganic hard coat layer having excellent scratch resistance and weatherability and inhibited from generation of curling and which is particularly suited for sticking on outside faces of window glasses in lofty buildings. The hard coat film is prepared by laminating in order a primer layer and a hard coat layer comprising metal oxide particles and a cured matter of a silane compound on one face of a base material and further providing, if necessary, a coating layer having various functions on the above hard coat layer.
