An object is to provide a variable-geometry exhaust turbine whereby it is possible to prevent deformation and damage to a nozzle support under a high temperature. A variable-geometry exhaust turbine includes: a nozzle mount, a nozzle support including a first end portion joined to the first surface of the nozzle mount, a nozzle plate including the first surface joined to the second end portion of the nozzle supportand supported so as to face the nozzle mount at a distance, and the opposite second surface facing an exhaust&#x2014;as channel through which exhaust gas flows, and a plurality of nozzle vanes supported rotatably between the nozzle mount and the nozzle plate. The nozzle support is capable of tilting along a radial direction so as to absorb a relative displacement in the radial direction between the nozzle mount and the nozzle plate due to thermal expansion.

Variable-geometry exhaust turbine

In a specimen collecting method according to the present invention, a specimen is collected from a surface () of a blade. An ultrasonic cutter having a cylindrical cutting blade is fed from the surface () of the blade to a surface () of a base material (), and thus, a cylindrical incision is formed. After performing cutting to expand the incision outwardly, a rotating cutter () having a disc-shaped cutting blade () performs cutting inwardly from the cylindrical incision. Thus, a part () situated inside the incision is cut away. The part () becomes the specimen.

Specimen collecting method and blade temperature estimating method

A steam cooled type gas turbine has a steam chamber unit formed in one unit having a compact structure through which steam, as a cooling medium, is appropriately supplied, used for cooling and recovered. The steam chamber unit (,) formed in one unit has a steam supply passage (,) for leading cooling steam, a steam connection passage (,) for leading the cooling steam which has cooled a front stage (,) to a subsequent stage (,) and a steam recovery passage (,) for recovering the cooling steam which has cooled a plurality of the stages. The unit further has a heat insulating structural member (,) for insulation of heat from a moving blade (,) and a stationary blade supporting portion (,), both provided in an inner circumferential surface portion of the steam chamber unit. Supply and recovery of steam to and from stationary blades and cooling by steam of stationary blades can be done with a compact structure having a single consecutive cooling steam passage so that the stationary blades can be cooled efficiently.
