A display device includes a light guide member, a light source substrate and a liquid crystal panel. The light guide member has a first incidence surface, and an emission surface orthogonal to the first incidence surface. The light source substrate has a light source emitting light toward the first incidence surface, and a substrate on which the light source is arranged. The liquid crystal panel has a second incidence surface arranged to be inclined relative to a surface of the substrate in a position where the liquid crystal panel faces the emission surface of the light guide member. A second angle between the emission surface and the surface of the substrate is greater than 0&#xb0;, and is equal to or smaller than a first angle between the second incidence surface and the surface of the substrate.

A light deflector includes: a polygon mirror made of plastic and having a plurality of reflecting surfaces; a motor including a rotor and configured to rotate the polygon mirror; and a pressing member configured to press the polygon mirror toward the rotor in an axial direction of the motor. The polygon mirror has a first surface having a polygonal shape, and a second surface opposite to the first surface in the axial direction and having a polygonal shape. The second surface faces the rotor. The polygon mirror includes a plurality of first contact portions configured to be in contact with and pressed by the pressing member, and the first contact portions are provided on the first surface at positions equally distant from an axis of the motor between each of vertices of the first surface and the axis of the motor.

A polygon mirror made of plastic is provided. The polygon mirror has a plurality of reflecting surfaces, a first surface intersecting the plurality of reflecting surfaces at a first side, a second surface intersecting the plurality of reflecting surfaces at a second side opposite to the first side, with a through hole provided to extend through the first surface and the second surface at a center of the polygon mirror. The polygon mirror includes a plurality of gate marks of injection molding. A light deflector and an image forming apparatus including the light deflector are provided. The light deflector includes a polygon mirror made of plastic and a motor including a rotor. The rotor supports the polygon mirror and includes a base and a first protrusion protruding from the base toward the polygon mirror in an axial direction. The polygon mirror includes a main body having a plurality of reflecting surfaces, and a second protrusion protruding from the main body toward the base. The second protrusion has an end face and an inner face. The end face is in contact with the base in the axial direction, and the inner face is in contact with the first protrusion in a radial direction.

An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductive body on which an electrostatic latent image is formed; an exposure member which has a plurality of blinking sections and which exposes the photoconductive body; a support frame which is made of resin and which supports the exposure member; a roller shaft which is made of metal and provided on the support frame; a roller which is made of resin, which is rotatably provided on the roller shaft and which maintains a spacing distance between the exposure member and the photoconductive body; and a metal plate which supports and is electrically connected to the roller shaft and which is electrically grounded. With the image forming apparatus, it is possible to solve a problem caused when the roller shaft is electrically floated, and to suitably arrange parts or components around the roller shaft.

An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductive body on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, an exposure unit which exposes the photoconductive body, a first pressing member which presses the exposure unit toward the photoconductive body, a first positioning member which makes a contact with the exposure unit, a second positioning member which is arranged at a side nearer to the photoconductive body than the first positioning member in an optical axial direction of light, and a second pressing member which presses the exposure unit toward the second positioning member. A point of action at which the first pressing member presses the exposure unit is positioned at a side nearer to the photoconductive body, than the first positioning member in the optical axial direction. It is possible to suppress a degradation of an image quality by suppressing an effect of vibrations with respect to the exposure unit.

A light scanning device includes: a light source which emits light; a frame which supports the light source; an oscillating mirror which rotationally oscillates about a first axis to reflect the light emitted from the light source; a mirror holder which holds the oscillating mirror; a beam member which extends in a first direction orthogonal to the first axis and which is longer than the mirror holder in the first direction; a first fixing member which fixes the mirror holder to the beam member; and a second fixing member which fixes the beam member to the frame.

Light scanning device

A device for holding a laser diode (LD) and a collimate lens. A laser unit includes an LD supporting section supporting the LD, and a lens supporting section supporting the lens positioned opposite to the LD. A connecting portion connects the lens supporting section to the LD supporting section. An adjustment section for adjusting a relative position between the LD and the lens is provided in association with the LD supporting section. The adjustment section allows the LD supporting section to be movable and position-fixable with respect to the lens supporting section as if the LD supporting section serves as a leverage about the connecting portion functioning as a fulcrum.

Optical member holding device, and optical scanning device provided with the same

An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member and a scanning lens. The photosensitive member bears a latent image thereon and defines a main scanning direction. The scanning lens transmits a light beam scanningly deflected in the main scanning direction for exposing the photosensitive member to the light beam to form the latent image thereon. The scanning lens includes a lens body and a rib. The lens body is formed of resin and extends substantially in the main scanning direction. The lens body defines a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction. The lens body has opposite surfaces that are both substantially perpendicular to the sub-scanning direction. The rib is formed integrally with the lens body and protrudes in the sub-scanning direction from either one of the opposite surfaces. The rib extends over a predetermined range in the main scanning direction.
