A cycloolefin resin composition which controls the flexibility of a cycloolefin resin and may be molded in an environment having a temperature exceeding about 140&#xb0; C. is provided. A cycloolefin resin film, a cycloolefin resin preform and the like are provided utilizing the cycloolefin resin composition including two or more cycloolefin copolymer resins having Tg values different from each other by about 10&#xb0; C. or more, and the storage modulus of about 120&#xb0; C. (E') relative to the storage modulus of about 50&#xb0; C. (E&#x2032;), namely E&#x2032;/E&#x2032;is set within the range of about 0.15 to about 0.65.

Cycloolefin resin composition

A purpose of the present invention is to obtain a hollow extruded article by easy blow molding or extrusion molding to give a draw down resistance and a uniform wall thickness of the article without damaging low gas permeability which is a characteristic property of a liquid-crystalline polymer. A resin composition for extrusion molding which is prepared by melting and kneading 99-70 wt. % of wholly aromatic polyester amide liquid crystal resin (A) having a melting point of 270-370&#xb0; C. and a melt viscosity at 1000/sec. shear rate of 20-60 Pa&#xb7;s at Temperature T1 which is higher than 20&#xb0; C. from said melting point, and containing (I) 1-15 mole % of 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid residue, (II) 40-70 mole % of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid residue, (III) 5-28.5 mole % of aromatic diol residue, (IV) 1-20 mole % of 4-aminophenol residue, and (V) 6-29.5 mole % of aromatic dicarboxylic acid residue; and 1-30 wt. % of epoxy modified polyolefin type resin (B), and has a melt viscosity at 1000/sec. shear rate of 60-4000 Pa&#xb7;s at said Temperature T1, and a melt tensile strength of 20 mN or more at 14.8 m/min. draw rate is used.

The present invention provides a liquid crystalline resin composition capable of readily blow-molding a molded article having uniform thickness, with the addition of good blow-moldability owing to the improved drawdown-resistant property, the improved melt-tension increase rate, and other properties without deteriorating the low gas-permeability which is a characteristic of liquid crystalline resin. Specifically, it provides a liquid crystalline resin composition for blow molding, obtainable by melt-kneading: (A) 100 parts by weight of a melt-processable aromatic polyester and/or polyester amide, which can form an anisotropic molten phase; (B) 10 to 25 parts by weight of a styrene-based copolymer composed of 40 to 97% by weight of a styrene group, 60 to 3% by weight of a specific glycidyl ester of &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated acid and 0 to 50% by weight of other vinyl-based monomer, wherein the styrene-based copolymer has epoxy equivalents ranging from 300 to 3000 g/eq, and weight average molecular weights of 30000 or more; and (C) 0 to 100 parts by weight of one or more of fibrous filler, powdery or granular filler, and plate-like filler.

The present invention is to provide a liquid crystal polymer molded article which has an excellent low warpage and is able to be suitably used particularly as a connector or the like. That is, a molded article of a liquid crystal composition in which 100 parts by weight of a liquid crystal polymer (A) and 5-100 parts by weight of a non-fibrous filler (B) are compounded where the non-fibrous filler is so dispersed that, when a diffraction peak of the non-fibrous filler is measured by a transmission method and a reflection method by means of a wide-angle X-ray diffraction, the diffraction peak of the non-fibrous filler which can be confirmed by the reflection method is not confirmed by the transmission method.

A process for producing a transparent and heat-resistant container includes forming a sheet from a melt of a polyester resin having at least 80 mole % ester units derived from 1,3-propanediol and terephthalic acid or an ester-forming derivative thereof. The formed sheet is quenched and solidified so as to have relatively low crystallinity (i.e., less than 50%). Polyester film has a thickness of between 10 to 500 .mu.m and exhibits excellent tear strength retention against thermal history conditions. The film is prepared from a resin composition which includes 100 parts by weight of a polyester consisting essentially of alkylene terephthalate groups as the main recurring units in the polymer chain and between 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a bisoxazoline compound incorporated thereinto. The film is usefully employed as a sterilizing bag or as a food-packaging material and can be laminated to anther sheet of film or to paper.
