The disclosure includes a light source apparatus that emits a light. In one example, the light source apparatus includes a connector that electrically connects the light source apparatus to a light source driver in a projector and a light source apparatus housing that houses the light source apparatus. The light source apparatus housing includes a rotatable handle having two positions, a standing position used to grasp and remove the light source apparatus in a pulling-out direction, and a housed position used to house the rotatable handle. The handle includes two shaft portions that are inserted into the light source apparatus housing. The tips of the shaft portions face each other. The positions of the medial axes of the shaft portions are mutually offset from each other.

A projector includes: an external housing that includes a projection opening and an exhaust port arranged on the same side as the projection opening; an axial-flow fan that causes air to flow therein with the rotation of blades and delivers the air flowing therein; and a plurality of slats that are arranged at the exhaust port and guide the air delivered from the axial-flow fan to an outside. The plurality of slats include an elongated slat that is disposed in, among four exhaust areas arranged side by side in the exhaust port, one of the two exhaust areas on the side close to the projection opening and whose length in a direction in which the air is guided corresponding to a rotational direction of the blade is longer than that of the slats disposed in the other areas.

Projector

A light source apparatus includes a light source apparatus body that emits light, and a light source apparatus housing that houses the light source apparatus body. The light source apparatus body includes a connector that electrically connects the light source apparatus body to a light source driver. The light source apparatus housing includes a handle used to grasp the light source apparatus and a connector holder that holds the connector. The handle is connected to the connector holder.

A projector includes an image projection device, an exterior chassis accommodating the substantially L-shaped image projection device, and a ventilation device configured to block leakage light and to insulate sound of the projector and to discharge air inside the exterior chassis to the outside through an air outlet formed on an end face located in a direction of projection. The image projection device includes a light source device, an optical modulation device, and a projection optical device. The ventilation device includes an axial fan with a suction port and a discharge port. An air outlet duct bends air discharged from the discharge port at an angle of substantially ninety degrees by a vertical wall substantially perpendicular to the discharging direction of air from the discharge port of the axial fan towards a side receding from the projection optical device to lead to the air outlet of the exterior chassis.

An optical component casing includes a lower casing in which a plurality of optical components are arranged, a lid-shaped upper casing () that closes the lower casing, and an optical component holding frame () that holds an incident-side polarization plate and a visual-angle correcting plate for arranging them at predetermined positions inside the lower casing. An optical component holding frame supporting surface (A) is formed on an upper side of the upper casing () to rotatably support the optical component holding frame (). The optical component holding frame () includes a polarization plate holding frame () for holding the incident-side polarization plate, and a correcting plate holding frame () for holding the visual-angle correcting plate. The polarization plate holding frame () slides on the optical component holding frame supporting surface (A) of the upper casing () and has a rotation guiding surface (B) for rotatably supporting the correcting plate holding frame ().

Optical component casing, optical device and projector

An exhaust sirocco fan exhausts the air inside the projector outside. An inlet of the exhaust sirocco fan is disposed along the plane orthogonal to the optical path plane formed by the optical unit, i.e. along the thickness direction of the projector. In other words, the optical unit or the exhaust sirocco fan need not be disposed in the thickness direction of the projector in an overlapping manner. Therefore, by efficiently sucking the inside air, the exhaust efficiency can be enhanced and calmness can be ensured in the projector.

Since an air flows along an arrow marked channel, the optical element unitand the light source lampcan be sufficiently cooled.

The invention provides a liquid crystal light valve that makes it possible to increase the life of a polarizer at a light-exiting-surface side of the liquid crystal light valve by reducing the burden thereon, and a projection display device that incorporates the liquid crystal light valve.
