The present invention relates to a method to achieve a reversible change of the colour of hair dyed with an azo dye wherein the change of the colour can be effected by, for example, the salonist or the consumer in a simple manner. The colour of the hair thus dyed may be changed simply by treating the dyed hair with an acid treatment composition at any time after the first dyeing treatment. If desired by the consumer, the colour may be returned to substantially the original post dye colour by treating the hair further with an alkaline treatment composition.

Method of effecting a reversible color change of dyed hair

The present invention is directed to a hair dyeing composition comprising at least one azo dye of the following general formula (1):A&#x2014;N=N&#x2014;B&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)where A=monovalent, optionally substituted heterocyclic group binding via the carbon atom to the azo group, that does not contain carboxy (&#x2014;COH) or sulfo groups (SOH) or quaternary ammonium groups and B=heterocyclic, aromatic or alkyl group containing a dissociative proton and, which is free of carboxy (&#x2014;COH) or sulfo groups (&#x2014;SOH) or quaternary ammonium groups. Additionally, the present invention describes a method of dyeing human or animal hair by using such a dye and the use of this direct azo dye for dyeing human or animal hair. The use of this direct azo dye can impart the hair with an extremely vivid colour and has a less colour fade over the time.

Hair dye composition

A method of increasing speed of a silver halide color photosensitive material. The photosensitive material has, on a support, a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, and a nonsensitive layer. The method comprises adding, to the emulsion layer or the nonsensitive layer, a compound represented by formula (M) or (C): in the formula (M), Rrepresents H or a substituent, Z represents a group of non-metallic atoms required to form a 5-membered azole ring containing 2 to 4 nitrogen atoms, and X represents H or a substituent, and in the formula (C), Za represents &#x2014;NH&#x2014; or &#x2014;CH(R)&#x2014;, Zb and Zc represent &#x2014;C(R)&#x2550; or &#x2014;N&#x2550;, R, Rand Rrepresent an electron attractive group having a Hammett constant &#x3c3;p of 0.2 to 1.0, Rrepresents H or substituent, and X represents H or a substituent.

Method of increasing speed of silver halide color photosensitive material

The present invention is directed to a hair dyeing composition containing a dissociative azo dye of the following general formula (1)A-N&#x2550;N&#x2014;B&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)wherein 'A' represents a phenyl or naphthyl group which may be substitued; 'B' represents an atomic group containing a dissociative proton, with the proviso &#x201c;A&#x201d; and &#x201c;B&#x201d; are free of sulfo, carboxyl and quaternary ammonium groups. Additionally, the present invention describes a method of dyeing human or animal hair by using such a dye and the use of this direct azo dye for dyeing human or animal hair. The use of this direct azo dye can impart the hair with an extremely vivid color and has less color fading over time.

Hair dye composition and dyeing method

Provided is a hair dye composition containing a dissociative direct dye represented by the following formula (1):wherein, Rto Reach represents H or substituent, X represents OH or &#x2014;NHSOR(Rrepresenting an alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic group) and A represents a group of any one of formulas (Cp-1) through (Cp-12). The hair dye composition of the present invention is capable of strongly dyeing the hair with a vivid color tone without causing decomposition of the dye during the dyeing process, exhibits excellent resistance against sunlight, hair washing, perspiration, friction and heat, has a high stability against an alkali agent and an oxidizing agent, has a high dyeing property, and shows less color fade over time.

Provided is a hair dye composition containing a dissociative direct dye represented by the following formula (1):wherein, Rto Reach represents H or substituent, X represents OH or &#x2014;NHSOR, Rrepresents an alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic group, and A represents a divalent group capable of forming a methine dye as a whole compound, together with the portion other than A. The hair dye composition of the present invention is capable of strongly dyeing the hair with a vivid color tone without causing decomposition of the dye during the dyeing process, exhibits an excellent resistance against sunlight, hair washing, perspiration, friction and heat, has a high stability against an alkali agent and an oxidizing agent, has a high dyeing property, and has less color fade after the passage of time.

Silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material

A method of processing a silver halide color photographic lightsensitive material. The material comprises a support and at least one lightsensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a binder and lightsensitive silver halide grains comprising tabular grains on the support. The material further comprises a developing agent or its precursor, and a compound capable of forming a dye by a coupling reaction with the developing agent in an oxidized form. The method comprises (a) exposing the material under natural light of 2000-9000 K color temperature or artificial light corresponding thereto, for 1/10-1/1000 sec, in an exposure amount such that 80-90% (numerical ratio) of the grains contained in the lightsensitive layer have at least one development initiating point per grain, and (b) color developing the exposed material so that the tabular grains have 3.0 or more (average) development initiating points per grain at the completion of the development.
