An electrical connector with the function of instantaneous breaking of a current in response to detection of a leak. The connector comprises: a current supply cord for connecting a load to a source; a pair of plug blades connected electrically with the current supply cord and projected out of a connector body; a sensor mounted in the connector body for detecting a current leak; a breaker device for breaking the connection between the plug blades and the current supply cord in response to a detection by the leak detection sensor. Therein, the breaker device comprises: a pair of movable strips each having a portion thereof fixed to the connector body and a free end; a pair of stationary strips connected to the plug blades; a holder attached to the free ends of the movable strips; a lifter for pulling the holder such that the movable strips are contactual with the stationary strips in resistance to a spring action; a solenoid for being excited in response to a detection by the leak detection sensor; a plunger having a head engaged with the lifter for disengaging, by a move, the engagement between the lifter and the holder in response to excitement of the solenoid; a reset switch connected to the lifter with enablement of pivoting thereof; a spring for biasing the reset switch such that the movable strips tend to contact the stationary strips; thereby a push of the reset switch engaging a nail of the lifter with an engaging mate portion of the holder and in turn the movable strips being pulled toward the stationary strips to be contactual with thereof.

Electrical connector with breaking current for leak

A hook switch has a box-shaped body an an open end. Within the box-shaped body there is fixed at least one contact piece, and extending from the box-shaped body is an arm on which an actuator is rotatably mounted. A slider is received within the box-shaped body. This slider has a spring biased protrusion with a spherical top which extends through a hole in a cover of the box-shaped body and is engaged by the actuator and displaced against the spring bias. In the process, a movable contact piece mounted on the slider engages a corresponding fixed contact piece mounted within the box-shaped body.

Hook switch

The invention relates to a compact, mechanically operated switch which is especially suitable for use in a telephone set having a loudspeaker receiving function. The switch includes a housing and, disposed therein, a first and a second rotor for opening and closing cooperable contacts and a third rotor for restricting the rotation of the second rotor under a certain condition. All the rotors are disposed in axial alignment with each other. The first and second rotors are urged to rotate in one direction while the third rotor is urged to rotate in the other direction by the action of a force greater than that urging the second rotor to rotate in the one direction. A pushbutton is disposed between the first and second rotors and acts, when depressed, to forcedly rotate them in the other direction so as to establish a loudspeaker receiving circuit. A lock pin cooperates with the pushbutton to lock it in a depressed position. The third rotor includes a lever operatively associated with a handset and having a cam portion which acts to move the lock pin in a manner to unlock the pushbutton when the handset is lifted.

Switch with plural rotors

The present invention discloses a multiple switch using a rotary actuator comprising a stationary terminal block in which a plurality of stationary terminals are arranged, a movable terminal block in which a plurality of movable terminals are arranged for the elastic contact with the stationary terminals, an actuator incorporated into a body to be rotatable at a specified angle when an external force is applied by means of a plunger or the like and returning automatically to its original position by means of an elastic member when the external force is released, a first projection group having at least one projection mounted on the actuator pressing at least one movable terminal to separate the movable terminal from the stationary terminal, a second projection group having at least one projection mounted on the actuator releasing the pressure to at least one movable terminal to come in the elastic contact with the stationary terminal, an the on-off control thereof being carried out based on the principle of a lever.

Multiple switch using a rotary actuator

A contact array plate having a plurality of contact pieces arranged to extend between first and second coupling pieces is formed by punching of a sheet of metal. A first housing half is molded integrally with the contact array plate so that intermediate portions of the contact pieces are buried in the first housing half. Then the first and second coupling pieces are cut off to separate the contact pieces from one another and outwardly projecting portions of the contact pieces are bent along shaped sections of the peripheral surface of the first housing half to form contact propers. A second housing half acting as bending dies is assembled with the first housing half with the contact propers inside thereof to define therebetween an insertion opening for receiving a mating connector.

Method for the manufacture of a printed-circuit board connector

A second body half formed by a substantially rectangular metal plate is assembled with a substantially rectangular parallelepipedic first body half fabricated of a synthetic resinous material to form a connector proper, with a printed-circuit sheet insertion opening defined therebetween for receiving a mating printed-circuit sheet. In the printed-circuit sheet insertion opening, the first body half has formed therein side by side in its lengthwise direction contact member receiving grooves extending in the direction in which a printed-circuit sheet is inserted into the printed-circuit sheet opening. Contact members are mounted in the contact member receiving grooves, the contact members being fixedly held by the first body half.

Printed-circuit board connector

A multiconnector includes a body composed of first, second and third blocks, the first and second blocks being joined at their ends with an insertion slot being defined therebetween for insertion therein or removal therefrom of a companion connector. The third block is fitted in the insertion slot on one side thereof and sandwiches the first and second blocks to keep them joined together. At least one of the first and second blocks support a plurality of contacts arrayed in the longitudinal direction thereof and disposed respectively in guide grooves in the insertion slot. The contacts have free end portions held in resilient engagement with the third block and hence preloaded for reliable and stable electric contact with contacts of the companion connector inserted in the insertion slot. After the contacts are retained on the block or blocks, the first, second and third blocks are combined and assembled together.

Three-piece multiconnector

A connector for making electrical connections to the terminals of an integrated circuit comprises a plurality of ribs formed integrally with a rectangular-prism-shaped base at regular intervals in its lengthwise direction to extend across the top surface of the base. Contacts are each housed and retained between adjacent ones of the ribs and conductors for connection are respectively placed on the contacts. By assembling a cover of an insulating material with the base to cover its top surface, a slider made of metal and attached to the cover is slightly moved back and forth for engagement with the base, locking the cover with the base.

Integrated circuit socket having an improved cover

A connector body has a plurality of contacts and a plug hole made in a front face of the connector for receiving a plug. Terminals connected to the contacts are led out to extend perpendicularly to the lengthwise direction of the plug hole along a side surface of the connector body adjacent the front face in which the plug hole is made. The outer peripheral surface of the connector body is shaped to permit control of the depth of insertion of the connector body into a connector insertion hole in a printed-circuit board. The actual insertion depth is determined by selection of the shape of the connector insertion hole in the printed-circuit board, by which the connector terminals can be connected to laminar conductors deposited on either one or both of the surfaces of the printed-circuit board.

Connector

A segment holder is mounted in a casing for rotational movement therein, and a plurality of contact wires extend substantially perpendicularly to the axis of rotation of the segment holder and are spaced from each other along the said axis of rotation, the segment holder being biased to turn in a direction under the resiliency of the contact wires. When a driver connected to the segment holder is actuated from the exterior of the casing, the segment holder is rotated against the biasing force applied thereto to make break electrical contact between the contact wires via a conductive segment(s) mounted on the segment holder.
