An embossed sheet which is excellent in embossing properties, whitening resistance and transparency, can be prepared by using a resin composition containing specific ratios of (A) polypropylene having a specific melting point of 125.degree. C. or higher, (B) ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer having specific properties and (C) random copolymer of aromatic vinyl compound and conjugated diene compound having specific properties. Further, the present invention provides the laminates which is made using the above embossed sheet and the method for producing them.

An improved thermoplastic resin composition obtained by subjecting a mixture of at least an engineering plastic and a rubber material containing an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acids or their derivatives, to dynamic heat treatment in the presence of a carbon radical inducing agent. The thermoplastic resin composition of the invention excels in thermal resistance, rigidity, impact resistance, and moldability.

Thermoplastic resin composition and method for producing the same

A thermoplastic resin composition is prepared by heat-treating a mixture of a thermoplastic resin substantially containing no olefinic unsaturated carbon-carbon bond and an elastomer having an olefinic unsaturated carbon-carbon bond, dynamically in the presence of a crosslinking agent, characterized in that as said elastomer there is used at least one member selected from the group consisting of styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer (SBS), styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer (SIS), 1,2-polybutadiene rubber and ethylene-propylene-diene random copolymer (EPDM), and that as said crosslinking agent there is used a dihydroaromatic compound or a polymer thereof.

Process for preparing thermoplastic resin composition

A thermoplastic resin composition is prepared by heat-treating a mixture of a thermoplastic resin substantially containing no olefinic unsaturated carbon-carbon bond and an elastomer having an olefinic unsaturated carbon-carbon bond, dynamically in the presence of a crosslinking agent, characterized in that as said elastomer there is used at least one member selected from the group consisting of styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer (SBS), styrene-iosprene-styrene block copolymer (SIS), 1,2-polybutadiene rubber and ethylene-propylene-diene random copolymer (EPDM), and that as said crosslinking agent there is used a dihydroaromatic compound or a polymer thereof.

Partially crosslinked, thermoplastic resin compositions prepared by dynamically heat-treating a thermoplastic resin, having substantially no carbon-carbon bond unsaturation, in the presence of: a dihydroaromatic compound as a crosslinking agent, said dihydroaromatic compound being selected from the group consisting of a 1,2-dihydroquinoline compound, a polymer thereof and 9,10-dihydrophenanthrene; and a polyfunctional monomer, such as a bismaleimide compound.
