Provided is to enhance the therapeutic effect of an iontophoretic preparation for treatment of breast cancer or mastitis. An iontophoretic preparation for treatment of breast cancer and/or mastitis containing, as an active ingredient, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic agent and/or an anticancer agent, wherein an electrolyte is topically administered through the nipple part into the mammary gland; subsequently, a donor is applied to the nipple part; and the active ingredient is topically administered through the nipple part into the mammary gland by application of current.

Iontophoresis preparation for treating breast cancer and/or mastitis

The present invention is to provide means to treat breast cancer and/or mastitis by topically administering a non-steroidal antiinflammatory analgetic agent and/or an anticancer agent and allowing them efficiently to arrive into the mammary gland. The present invention provides an iontophoretic preparation for treating breast cancer and/or mastitis which contains a non-steroidal antiinflammatory analgetic agent and/or an anticancer agent as an active ingredient and has a donor to be applied on a nipple part for topical administration of the active ingredient from the nipple part to the mammary gland by application of electric potential.

Iontophoretic preparation for treatment of breast cancer and/or mastitis

A composition containing an extremely poorly water-soluble drug and obtained by treating, with a supercritical fluid or subcritical fluid of carbon dioxide, a mixture comprising a porous silica material and the extremely poorly water-soluble drug; and its production process. The porous silica material has an average pore diameter in a range of from 1 to 20 nm, pores having diameters within &#xb1;40% of the average pore size account for at least 60% of a total pore volume of the porous silica material, and in X-ray diffractometry, the porous silica material has at least one peak at a position of diffraction angle (2&#x3b8;) corresponding to a d value of at least 1 nm. The composition according to the present invention, which contains the extremely poorly water-soluble drug, is excellent in the dissolution of the extremely poorly water-soluble drug.

Composition containing medicine extremely slightly soluble in water being excellent in eluting property and method for preparation thereof

A composition containing a very low water-soluble drug, which composition is produced by treating, with a supercritical or subcritical carbon dioxide fluid, a mixture containing a very low water-soluble drug and a porous material (exclusive of a porous silica material characterized in that the material has an average pore diameter of 1 to 20 nm, the total pore volume of the material that have a diameter falling within a range of &#xb1;40% of the average pore diameter account for 60% or more the volume of all the pores of the material, and, when subjected to X-ray diffractometry, the material exhibits one or more peaks at a diffraction angle (2&#x3b8;) corresponding to d of 1 nm or more); and a method for producing the composition. The very-low-water-soluble-drug-containing composition of the present invention ensures improved dissolution of the very low water-soluble drug.

Composition containing medicine extremely slightly soluble in water and method for preparation thereof

An object of the present invention is to provide an indomethacin external preparation that has an excellent use feeling and excellent absorbability and causes no phase separation into an oil layer and an aqueous layer, thus exhibiting satisfactory stability of preparation with time. Provided is an indomethacin external preparation containing: 0.1 to 3 wt % of indomethacin; 25 to 50 wt % of alcohol; 0.01 to 5 wt % of gelling agent; 5 to 30 wt % of oil component; 20 to 50 wt % of water; and 0.01 to 10 wt % of one or more components selected from the group consisting of glyceryl monostearate, sorbitan monostearate, stearyl alcohol, and polyethylene glycol monostearate.

Indomethacin external preparation

The invention provides a solid dispersion composition containing 2-benzyl-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-6-&lsqb;4-(methylthio)phenyl&rsqb;-2H-pyridazin-3-one, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, and polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene glycol. The solid dispersion composition of the present invention exhibits the excellent dissolvability of 2-benzyl-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-6-&lsqb;4-(methylthio)phenyl&rsqb;-2H-pyridazin-3-one in water, and enables this compound to be constant sequentially and thereby improve absorbability in blood.

Solid dispersion composition

The present invention provides a gastric and/or duodenal adhesive pharmaceutical composition obtained by coating a composition, which comprises a medicament acting at the stomach and/or duodenum and one or more of ingredients selected from water insoluble polymers, polyglycerin fatty acid esters, lipids and waxes, with a polymer having adhesive capacity onto the surface of the mucosa of a digestive tract under acid conditions and separates from the mucosa of the digestive tract in neutral or alkaline conditions. This composition adheres only to the mucosa of the stomach and/or duodenum and releases the medicament over long hours so that sufficient effects are available by a small amount of the medicament.

Medicinal compositions adhering to stomach/duodenum

A local anesthetic for external use is prepared by blending a) an active ingredient selected from lidocaine, prilocaine, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; b) a percutaneous absorption accelerator, c) ethanol and/or isopropyl alcohol, and d) water, such that the blending ratio of ethanol and/or isopropyl alcohol to water is 0.5 to 1.2 by weight, and the pH is 6.0 to 8.5.

Local anesthetic for external use

Described is a hydrophilic adhesive base material comprising a hydrophilic crosslinked polymer obtained by polymerizing (A) (a) a glucosyloxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, (b) an alkyl (meth)acrylate and/or a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate and (c) a polyfunctional monomer; and (B) polyvinyl alcohol. The hydrophilic adhesive base material according to the present invention is free from lowering in the water content and has excellent mechanical strength and adhesion to the skin so that it is useful as adhesive layers in plasters, various medical pads and also medicament-impregnated dermatologic medicines.

Hydrophilic adhesive base material

An adhesive base material comprises a polymer obtained by polymerizing a glucosyloxy alkyl (meth)acrylate, a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, an alkyl (meth)acrylate and a polyfunctional monomer. This adhesive base material can be caused to swell uniformly because of its good swelling property and exhibits excellent adhesion to the skin so that it is useful as adhesive layers in plasters, various medical pads and also medicament-impregnated dermatologic medicines.

Adhesive base material

A powder preparation for healing damaged skins, which comprises 50-90 wt. % of sucrose, 0.5-10 wt. % of povidone-iodine, and a water-soluble polymer selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyacrylic acid and salts thereof, pullulan, carboxyvinyl polymers, methylcellulose, hydroxymethylcellulose, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, and carboxymethylcellulose and salts thereof, is disclosed. The powder preparation features that it undergoes no caking even when vibrated upon its transportation or the like or stored for a long period of time, does not scatter upon its use, and has good adhesion to wound surfaces.

Powder preparation for healing damaged skin

An electrotherapeutic device for passing a DC electric current through a living organism by applying a voltage to the living organism includes a battery with an internal resistance which is high enough so that changes in the resistance value of the living organism can be disregarded. Excessive flow of current is avoided even when the resistance of the living organism fluctuates. The device is safe, easy to handle, and inexpensive. It is particularly suited for use with iontophoresis; a technology by which drugs are administered using electricity.

Electrotherapeutic device

An antiinflammatory analgesic ointment comprising: (a) an antiinflammatory amount of indomethacin; (b) a medium consisting of a hydroxy compound in the range of from 15 to 85% by weight, water in the range of 30 to 55% by weight and a gelating agent being present in an amount sufficient to effect gelation of said ointment and selected from the group consisting of a cellulose compound and a carboxyvinyl polymer which has been neutralized with aqueous ammonia or an amine; (c) an adjuvant being present in the range of from 0.5 to 5% by weight and selected from the group consisting of a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alcohol ester of a C.sub.4 -C.sub.14 monocarboxylic acid and a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alcohol diester of a C.sub.4 -C.sub.10 dicarboxylic acid; and (d) water in an amount sufficient to make up the balance of the ointment, said ointment being adjusted in its pH from an acidic to slightly basic level sufficient to solubilize said indomethacin in the composition but not too basic a pH level to cause decomposition of said indomethacin.

Antiinflammatory analgesic gelled ointment

A pharmaceutical preparation for endermic application is disclosed which comprises indomethacin and at least one solubilizer selected from the group consisting of a C.sub.10 terpenoid and a C.sub.10 phenol.
