A vehicle power supply device applied to a vehicle including an electric motor including coils for a plurality of phases. The vehicle power supply device includes: a battery; a power conversion device including, for each of phases of the electric motor, a switching element and a current sensor; and a control device configured to control the power conversion device such that electric power supplied via a neutral point of the electric motor is stepped up and then supplied to the battery, execute a feedback control to control currents of the respective phases such that an input current from the external power supply and an output current to the battery are equal, set an upper limit of the currents of the respective phases based on a maximum value of the input current, and limit the currents of the respective phases so as not to exceed the set upper limit value.

Vehicle power supply device

When an abnormality of one of current sensors corresponding to a plurality of phases is detected during charging, a control device of a vehicle power source device configured to execute a ripple restraining control to continue the charging while controlling switching elements in remaining normal phases of the plurality of phases such that a ripple current to be generated by operation of the switching elements in the normal phases does not exceed a ripple current threshold. The ripple current threshold corresponds to an allowable value of the ripple current to be generated by operation of the switching elements in the plurality of phases when there is no abnormality in any of the current sensors corresponding to the plurality of phases.

Vehicle power source device

A vehicle in one exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a power control unit, a first control unit, and a second control unit. The first control unit further acquires collision prediction information indicating whether there is a possibility that the vehicle will collide and executes the discharge control if (i) the collision information is received, (ii) an abnormality occurs in the communication with the second control unit and, the collision prediction information indicates that there is a possibility that the vehicle will collide, or (iii) a voltage of an auxiliary power supply becomes lower than a threshold voltage and, the collision prediction information indicates that there is a possibility that the vehicle will collide.

Vehicle having power control unit

A battery system for a vehicle includes an auxiliary battery, first electric loads electrically connected to the auxiliary battery through first relays, a first electronic control unit electrically connected to the auxiliary battery through a second relay, the first electronic control unit being configured to turn on and off at least the first relays and the second relay, and a collision detection device configured to transmit a collision detection signal to the first electronic control unit when detecting a collision of the vehicle. The first electronic control unit is configured to switch the first relays from on to off, while keeping the second relay turned on when receiving the collision detection signal.
