An image forming apparatus includes: a fixing section; a housing having an air inflow hole, an air outflow hole, a duct, and a fan circulating the air in the duct; and a main body frame. The duct has: (i) a first duct part extending from the air inflow hole to an arrangement region; (ii) a second duct part continuing to the first duct part and extending along the arrangement region; (iii) a third duct part extending from the air outflow hole to the arrangement region; (iv) a fourth duct part continuing to the third duct part and extending along the arrangement region at a position different from the second duct; and (v) a fifth duct part being provided between the second and the fourth duct parts and being curved in a meandering manner in a region, other than the arrangement region, located between the housing and the main body frame.

A sheet feeder includes a sheet feeding cassette stored in a cassette storage part, a heater and flow regulating plates. A first gap is formed between the bottom plate of the sheet feeding cassette and a bottom portion of the cassette storage part, and having an air intake port. A second gap is formed between the side plate of the sheet feeding cassette and a side portion of the cassette storage part and has a vent port communicating with the first gap and the sheet storing part. The flow regulating plates are disposed in the first gap so as to form a duct together with the sheet feeding cassette and the cassette storage part. Air flow is generated such that air is supplied from the air intake port into the first gap, is heated, rises through the second gap from the vent port, and flows to the sheet storing part.

A recording medium storage apparatus has a storage cassette and a lock mechanism. The lock mechanism restricts movement of the storage cassette in the drawing direction. The lock mechanism has an engaging portion on an apparatus body and an engaged portion on the storage cassette. While the storage cassette is drawn out of the apparatus body, an abutting portion of the engaging portion moves along a first slope on the engaged portion toward a peak portion while swinging in a second direction in which it retracts from the engaged portion, and meanwhile the engaged portion rotates in a third direction so that the peak portion is displaced from a protruding position to a guiding position.

Recording medium storage apparatus and image forming apparatus therewith

A sheet feed device includes a feed unit and a sheet loading cassette. The feed unit includes a separation conveyance portion that is composed of a feed member and a separation member, a separation holder that supports the separation member and is swingable, and a pressing member that presses the separation holder. The sheet loading cassette includes a grip portion, a pressure release member that, in conjunction with an operation of drawing out the sheet loading cassette, comes into contact with the pressing member, an operation lever that is provided at the grip portion. In a state where the sheet loading cassette is inserted in the apparatus main body, the operation lever is gripped together with the grip portion, and thus the pressure release member slides to come into contact with the pressing member, so that the pressing member is released from the separation holder.

Sheet feed device and image forming apparatus including the same

A sheet feeder has a tray on which a sheet to be fed is to be placed. A lift plate is at a feeding end of the tray and has a first end at an upstream side in a feeding direction connected rotatably to the tray. The lift plate is displaceable between a feeding posture where a second end at a downstream side in the feeding direction is lifted up and a retracted posture where the second end is lower than in the feeding posture due to its own weight. A biasing member gives a biasing force to an elevating member in a direction to lift the lift plate to the feeding posture. A lowering mechanism gives a pressing force against the force of the biasing member to lower the lift plate to the retracted posture.

A structure for clamping the harnesses, enabling the harnesses attached to the substrate or the harnesses around the substrate to be clamped by using parts that have been usually used. An assembly having the structure for clamping the harnesses comprises a circuit board on which parts are mounted on one side thereof; a shielding plate arranged on the other surface side thereof; and an insulating sheet arranged between the other surface of the circuit board and the shielding plate; wherein the harnesses are extending around the circuit board. The insulating sheet forms a clamp protruding outward beyond the circuit board, and the harnesses are engaged with a protruding piece.

Assembly having a structure for clamping the harnesses and image-forming machine

An image-forming machine comprising a cassette for feeding sheet materials that moves between an acting position and a drawn position which is forwardly drawn from the acting position in the housing of the image-forming machine. Provision is made of a locking mechanism which reliably locks at a preset position a front width restriction member and a rear width restriction member of the cassette for feeding sheet materials. The locking mechanism includes a locking member, a resilient urging member and a forcing means. When the cassette for feeding sheet materials is at the drawn position, the resilient urging member urges the locking member to the release position and when the cassette for feeding sheet materials is moved toward the acting position, the forcing member forces the locking member to the locking position to lock the front width restriction member and the rear width restriction member.
