The rotation of axial-flow blades permits air entered through an inlet port to exit directly to outside of a case in the axial direction, and the rotation of centrifugal blades permits air entered through the inlet port to exit through a side surface outlet port to the outside of the case in the centrifugal direction. Accordingly, the amount of flow of air exiting from inside of the case can be increased so that the amount of heat dissipation is increased. It is therefore able to provide a cooling apparatus and electronic equipment mounting the cooling apparatus with improved cooling efficiency while achieving a small thickness.

Cooling apparatus and electronic equipment

A fan motor having a small thickness and its impeller's blades formed to have a longer length in the diametrical direction than a width in the axial direction. Since the blade of the fan motor has a tooth structure or chamfers at its edge end in the diametrical direction, turbulence is forcibly evoked in an airflow to promote the turbulent diffusion, thereby suppressing the trailing vortex and reducing the aerodynamic noises, and thus the ventilation efficiency is improved.

Each of fins is provided with an engage projection having a first width and a engage hole portion having a second width wider than the first width, and the fins are able to be slid while engaging with each other. Accordingly, in case of installing a heat sink to a case of a fan, it is possible to install the fins to the case so that the fins are arranged in a flowing direction of a refrigerant by the fan while engaging with each other. As the result, the refrigerant is able to flow smoothly when passing through the fins by arranging the fins at desired angle. Accordingly, it becomes possible to present a radiation fin, a cooling device and an electronic equipment having such cooling device.

A heat transfer element includes a container having a heat input section for receiving heat generated by a heating element and a heat output section for radiating the heat outside, and condensable working fluid that is vacuum-sealed in the container to transfer the heat received from the heat input section to the heat output section and that is moved between the heat input section and the heat output section by a capillary action member. The container is composed of a resin containing a thermoconductive material. A cooling device includes the heat transfer element, a heat sink disposed adjacent to the heat output section to radiate the heat received from the heat output section, and a fan for supplying cooling air to the heat sink.

A bearing unit is provided which supports a shaft () rotatably. It includes the shaft (), a radial bearing () to support the shaft () circumferentially, a thrust bearing () to support the shaft () at one of thrusting-directional ends of the latter, a housing () having disposed therein the radial bearing () and thrust bearing () supporting together the shaft () and which is filled with a viscous fluid (), and a spacer member () disposed inside the housing () to keep a gap defined between the end face of the radial bearing () and one side of a radial projection () included in the shaft (). On the end face of the radial breading () opposite to one side of the radial projection (), there is formed a first dynamic pressure producing recess () which produces a dynamic pressure by the viscous fluid. Also, on the side of the thrust bearing () opposite to the other side of the radial projection (), there is formed a second dynamic pressure producing recess () which produces a dynamic pressure by the viscous fluid. As the shaft () rotates, the viscous fluid is circulated through the first and second dynamic pressure producing recesses () to produce a dynamic pressure between the shaft and the radial and thrust bearings, respectively. The space member () provided as above permits to control the gap between the radial projection () and first and second dynamic pressure producing recesses (), respectively, with a high accuracy.

An organic electrolyte cell is disclosed which comprises an anode made of Li or Li alloy, an organic electrolyte and cathode active material made of Li and metal complex oxide represented by LiMO.sub.2 wherein M stands for at least one of Co, Ni, Fe, Cr, and V. The cell has a discharge voltage of 1.2 to 1.3 volts which is compatible with mercury cell.

A positioning control device wherein an abnormality in a position detector is judged only by use of two position signals having differing phases emitted from the position detector for effecting position detection of a movable article without using the data of movement of the movable article to be controlled. For this purpose, direction determining means are provided which are responsive to the position signals to provide normal or reverse direction signals. A logical circuit for effecting abnormality judging of the position detector is provided in a controller for emitting a position control signal corresponding to the position signal to a control circuit for effecting position control of the movable article. When an abnormal condition occurs in the position detector, the signal aspect of the position signal emitted from the position detector is varied from that during the normal operation.

Pulses indicating movement distance are frequency divided to a desired resolution and then counted in a microprocessor in accordance with the direction of movement. The position count value addresses a data memory storing switch output data corresponding to desired detection positions.

A length measuring device has a magnetic scale body including at least one origin signal magnetic section and a measurement signal magnetic section forming a magnetic grating, the magnetic scale body having a uniform frictional surface formed over the entire effective length of the scale body, and a detecting head body including an origin detecting head for detecting an origin signal and a measurement detecting head for detecting a measurement signal and provided with a scraper in elastic contact with the frictional surface of the magnetic scale body, the detecting head body moving relative to the magnetic scale of the body along the length of the latter.

The present invention relates to improvements in a method of sensing a position of a movable body by directly or indirectly converting a unit movement of the movable body into digital pulse signals and an apparatus therefor. A reference position is selected at a point, at which said movable body abuts against and presses a stopper provided at a specific position within the moving range thereof. The pulse signals are counted as the movable body moves from the stopper using the reference position as a reference number. The coincidence of the number of the pulse signals counted with a first predetermined pulse number corresponding to a predetermined position is sensed so as to sense the fact that the movable body has reached a predetermined position and position sensing signals are emitted. Further, as necessary, the position sensing signals that have been emitted are sustained for the duration of a second predetermined pulse number corresponding to a predetermined stroke preset so that the position sensing signals indicate that the movable body has reached the predetermined position and is within a predetermined stroke from the predetermined position.

Method of sensing position of movable body and apparatus therefor

Two bevel gears are meshed together and rotated around their central axes in mesh, one of them transmitting power to the other. One of the gears is moved relative to the other, so that the meshing area between their teeth moves on the tooth surface of at least one of them. Occurrence of vibration is detected by a vibration detector. Thereby irregularities are tested for.
