A wrapping apparatus designed so that an attractively wrapped package is obtained at all times irrespective of the kind of a film used and the shape of a tray selected. Namely, there is provided a wrapping apparatus of the type in which a predetermined cut length of film fed by a film feeding mechanism is extended at a predetermined portion of the wrapping apparatus, an article to be wrapped is raised into engagement with the extended film from therebelow by an elevator mechanism, and the edges of the film are folded under the bottom of the article, thereby wrapping the article in the film, by a film folding mechanism comprising left and right folding members and either a front or rear folding member, wherein an article mount section of the elevator mechanism has at least left and right head portions disposed at the left and right sides, respectively, and each constituted by a plurality of heads.

Wrapping apparatus

The label printer comprises at least two printing units and a control unit. Each printing unit can print a specific label under the control of the control unit. The label is printed with information concerning a commodity, such as a price and a weight of the commodity. One or two printed labels are attached at predetermined positions on the commodity. Further, the two printing units can be moved so that each printing unit can attach each printed label on the commodity.

A film folding control apparatus of a wrapping machine is a type in which a length of film fed by a film feeding mechanism is extended at a predetermined section of the wrapping machine. An article to be wrapped is raised into taut engagement with the extended film from therebelow. The edges of the film are folded under the bottom of the article, thereby wrapping the article in the film, by a film folding mechanism comprising left, right and front folding plates. The conrol apparatus comprises a data setting device for setting flim length data, film tension data and tray type data in dependence upon a numer of an article to be wrapped. A preset memory stores this data in correspondence with the number of the article to be wrapped. A control unit is responsive to an input of the number of the article to be wrapped. The control unit reads the corresponding film length data, film tension data and tray type data out of the preset memory and controls, on the basis of the read data, the operating timing of such operating sections of the wrapping machine as the left, right and front folding plates and grippers for grasping both edges of the film.

Film folding control apparatus of wrapping system

This invention relates to a packaging machine in which an item is stored on a container such as a tray. The container is mechanically and automatically packaged in a bag-form with a stretch film. The film is folded down to the bottom surface of the container. The width of the container may be different in size. A label can be attached to a desired position on the item.

Stretch film packaging machine

A film folding control apparatus of a wrapping machine is a type in which a length of film fed by a film feeding mechanism is extended at a predetermined section of the wrapping machine. An article to be wrapped is raised into taut engagement with the extended film from therebelow. The edges of the film are folded under the bottom of the article, thereby wrapping the article in the film, by a film folding mechanism comprising left, right and front folding plates. The control apparatus comprises a data setting device for setting film length data, film tension data and tray type data in dependence upon a number of an article to be wrapped. A preset memory stores this data in correspondence with the number of the article to be wrapped. A control unit is responsive to an input of the number of the article to be wrapped. The control unit reads the corresponding film length data, film tension data and tray type data out of the preset memory and controls, on the basis of the read data, the operating timing of such operating sections of the wrapping machine as the left, right and front folding plates and grippers for grasping both edges of the film.

This invention relates to a packaging machine in which an item is stored on a container such as tray. The container is mechanically and automatically packaged in a bag-form with a stretch film. A wrapping machine includes a mechanism for feeding a stretchable film, means for lift an article to be wrapped, a mechanism for underfolding the film, means for controlling the timing at which various elements of the wrapping machine are actuated, and means for adjusting the tension of the film. The film feeding mechanism clamps opposite edge portions of the film, which has been cut to a predetermined length, by a plurality of grippers to apply a prescribed tension to the film and extend the film at a predetermined position of the wrapping machine. The article lifting means is adapted to raise an article to be wrapped, which has been fed in by infeed conveyance means, into taut engagement with the film extended at the predetermined position. The film folding mechanism includes left and right folding plates disposed above the cut length of extended film at positions having left-right symmetry with respect to the article feed-in direction for underfolding left and right edge portions of the film covering the article from above, a front folding plate and a rear folding member disposed at positions perpendicular to the left and right folding plates for underfolding front and rear edge portions of the film, the left, right and front folding plates and the rear folding member defining a generally rectangular opening, and sliding means for moving the left, right and front folding plates toward the center of the opening. The film tension adjusting means adjusts the tension of the film wrapping the article by regulating the cut length of film in dependence upon the size of the article to be wrapped and by regulating the timing at which the grippers release their hold on the opposite edge portions of the film.
