The present invention proposes a lubricating oil for refrigerators comprising, as the base oil, a polyester-based derivative or a polyvinyl ether derivative and a polycarbonate-based oxygenated compound; a polyoxyalkylene glycol derivative; or a polyester-based derivative or a polyvinyl ether derivative and a polyoxyalkylene glycol derivative. The lubricating oil exhibits excellent miscibility with a refrigerant having one carbon atom and no chlorine atoms and, in particular, with difluoromethane and provides a hydraulic fluid composition exhibiting excellent antiwear, lubricity and stability.

The invention relates to a refrigerator oil composition for compression refrigerators with carbon dioxide refrigerant therein, such as car air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, heat pumps, etc. The base oil of the composition comprises an oxygen-containing organic compound as the essential component and has a kinematic viscosity at 100&#xb0; C. of from 5 to 50 mm/sec, a viscosity index of at least 60, and a water content of at most 300 ppm.

This invention describes a refrigerating oil composition for natural substance-based refrigerants which comprises (A) a synthetic oil component comprising a polyether compound having a pour point of &#x2212;10&#xb0; C. or lower and (B) a mineral oil component comprising sulfur components, wherein the ratio of amounts by weight of component (A) to component (B) is in the range of 25:75 to 99:1 and the amount of the sulfur components derived from component (B) in the composition is in the range of 5 to 1,000 ppm. The refrigerating oil composition has excellent miscibility with natural substance-based refrigerants and, in particular, with ammonia-based refrigerants, exhibits an improved lubricity and used for industrial refrigerators using natural substance-based refrigerants such as ammonia, propane, butane and carbon dioxide.

The present invention describes a refrigerating oil composition for a carbon dioxide refrigerant comprising a base oil composition which comprises (A) a polyoxyalkylene glycol having a kinematic viscosity of 3 to 50 mm /s at 100&deg; C. and at least one component selected from (B) a carbonate-based carbonyl derivative having a kinematic viscosity of 3 to 50 mm /s at 100&deg; C. and (C) a polyol ester having a kinematic viscosity of 3 to 50 mm /s at 100&deg; C., wherein an amount of (B) and/or (C) is 0.1 to 40% by weight of the total base oil composition. The composition exhibits sufficient antiwear, excellent lubricity and miscibility with carbon dioxide refrigerants and can be used for a long time with stability in the refrigerating cycle using a refrigerant comprising carbon dioxide in the supercritical condition of a high temperature and a high pressure as the main component.

Provided is a refrigerator oil, especially that for carbon dioxide refrigerant, which comprises a base oil comprising an oxygen-containing organic compound as the essential component and having a kinematic viscosity at 100&deg; C. of from 5 to 50 mm,/sec and a viscosity index of at least 60, and optionally contains additives of, for example, extreme pressure agent and acid scavenger. The refrigerator oil can be used in compression refrigerators with carbon dioxide refrigerant therein, concretely in refrigerating or heating-cooling equipment such as car air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, heat pumps, compression refrigeration cycles equipped with oil separator and/or hot gas line, etc. This is stable and has excellent lubricity (abrasion resistance) even in a supercritical carbon dioxide atmosphere, and therefore can be used for a long period of time in the atmosphere.
