A droplets drying device includes: a drying mechanism having a plurality of light sources that are arranged in a width direction of a recording medium, and dry droplets ejected onto the recording medium by emitting light toward the droplets; a moving mechanism that moves the drying mechanism in the width direction; a light shield member that is opposed to at least part of the drying mechanism being moved by the moving mechanism, and interrupts light emitted from the light sources disposed in the part, opposed to the light shield member, of the drying mechanism; and a measuring member that is disposed in a light shield region where the light shield member interrupts incoming light, and receives light emitted from each of the light sources and measures a light quantity of the light source as the measuring member is moved relative to the drying mechanism in the width direction.

A liquid droplet ejection head comprises an ejector, a liquid viscosity-increase prevention structure and a liquid viscosity-increase prevention controller. The ejector includes a nozzle for ejecting a liquid droplet, a pressure chamber communicating with the nozzle through a communication path, and an actuator for applying pressure to a liquid in the pressure chamber. The liquid viscosity-increase prevention structure prevents an increase of viscosity of the liquid in the ejector. The present invention provides an inkjet recording head cartridge and an inkjet recording apparatus that have a simple structure and high reliability. Since individual flow passages in which ink emission orifices are formed are communicated directly with a rectangular ink supply chamber, it is prevented that a bubble of such a size as to cause printing defects rises through an ink supply chamber and blocks the individual flow passages. Also, since ink heated within the ink supply chamber is moved upward to the ink tank chamber by convection and grows an air lump sealed beforehand, it is prevented that a bubble will grow in the ink supply chamber. Furthermore, by allocating a large cross-sectional area to the ink supply chamber, it is prevented that meniscus oscillation of the ink emission orifices is amplified by pressure oscillation caused by ink emission and causes a printing defect. Therefore, reliable printing can be performed with a simple construction.

Inkjet recording head cartridge and inkjet recording apparatus

A channel wafer has a plurality of nozzle flow channels and a common ink reservoir. Pits communicating with the ink reservoir from above heating elements are formed in a polyimide layer on a heater wafer. Each of the pits has a throttled portion in the rear of the heating element and the terminal of a nozzle flow channel is situated on the throttled portion so as to form the minimum sectional area portion of the flow channel. Stable ink discharge characteristics are attained by means of the flow channel resistance of the minimum sectional area portion and bubble pressure is prevented from being relieved toward the ink reservoir. The pressure propagated to the ink reservoir is made to attenuate internally, so that no crosstalk is produced.

The present invention provides a liquid jet printing head, a method of manufacturing the same, and a liquid jet printing apparatus, which allow stable, high speed, and continuous printing. A liquid jet printing head provides an inflow of liquid from an inlet to a common chamber, then along with the surface of heating elements of a heating element substrate and with a wall of a housing to separate channels. Liquid drops will be ejected by heating the heating elements. Since liquid may flow linearly from the inlet to the separate channels in accordance with the present invention, smooth flow promotes evacuation of bubbles through a nozzle, while cooling the heating element substrate with liquid flowing along with the substrate. The present invention provides thereby stable printing with high speed, continuous ejection (printing) of liquid drops.

Liquid jet printing head and method for manufacturing the same

An ink jet printer which causes ink to fly to a recording medium to form an image, comprising: plural nozzles functioning as ink ejection ports; plural individual flow paths which are disposed with respectively corresponding to the nozzles, the individual flow paths respectively having driving elements which eject internal ink through the nozzles; a common liquid chamber which communicates with the individual flow paths, the common liquid chamber having an opening portion through which ink is supplied into the chamber; an ink supply path which has a sectional area smaller than a sectional area of the opening portion of the common liquid chamber, the ink supply path being connected to the opening portion to guide ink to the common liquid chamber; and an ink supply source for supplying ink through the ink supply path.
