The present invention provides a projection image display device capable of both minimizing a decrease in a cooling ability and simplifying maintenance of a filter. The projection image display device according to the present invention includes a filter material for filtering external air taken into a casing, a loop-shaped filter frame onto which the filter material is mounted, a drive mechanism for rotating the filter frame in a loop direction of the loop shape, and a dust removal brush to be brought into contact with the filter material while spinning at a predetermined position. The filter material is mounted onto a part of a loop-shaped surface of the filter frame. The filter material is not mounted but a ventilation part is provided in the other part of the loop-shaped surface of the filter frame.

Projection image display device

The projection display apparatus includes rotation regulating elements for inhibiting a rotation of the mount ring in a tightening direction, and a stopper element displaceable between a non-locked position and a locked position, wherein the stopper element is displaced to the non-locked position when the mount ring is rotated to a rotating position in a loosening direction from a predetermined position in the tightening direction, and is displaced to the locked position when the mount ring is rotated to the predetermined position in the tightening direction.

Projection display apparatus

A projection type display apparatus includes a projection lens barrel holding a projection lens, a micro mirror type display element, and a main body which holds the micro mirror type display element and on which the projection lens barrel is mounted. The projection lens barrel is formed with a barrel-side reference surface which becomes a mounting reference in a direction of an optical axis, and the main body is formed with a mounting reference surface against which the barrel-side reference surface abuts. The main body has an adjusting mechanism which adjusts a length between a reflection surface of the micro mirror type display element and the mounting reference surface.

It is an object to obtain a light source device and a projection type display device in which a fragment can be completely enclosed therein even if a discharge lamp bursts during lighting. During normal lighting of a discharge lamp ( ), an internal space of a light source device ( ) and an external space are spatially connected to each other through a vent hole ( ) formed on a cutoff valve mechanism ( ) and a vent hole ( ) formed on a concave reflecting mirror ( ). Cooling air is introduced and discharged between the internal space and the external space so that the discharge lamp ( ) is cooled down. When the discharge lamp ( ) bursts during lighting for some reason, a very strong impulsive pressure wave is generated in a moment of the burst. The pressure wave presses a movable valve ( ) provided in the cutoff valve mechanism ( ) through the vent hole ( ). By the pressing carried out with the pressure wave, the movable valve ( ) is pushed up in a direction of an arrow (K ), thereby closing the vent hole ( ).
