The present invention provides a coating method including: a step of supplying a coating agent to a surface of a lens base material; a spreading step of spreading the coating agent supplied to the surface by rotation of the lens base material; a first removal step of removing at least a part of a liquid pool of the coating agent generated on a peripheral edge portion and/or a side surface portion of the lens base material by rotation of the lens base material after the spreading step; and a second removal step of removing the liquid pool remaining on the peripheral edge portion and/or the side surface portion of the lens base material by bringing an adsorption member into contact with at least the side surface of the lens base material after the first removal step. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a coating method capable of obtaining a base material having a coating layer excellent in uniformity of film thickness by reducing the liquid pool of the coating agent generated on the peripheral edge portion and/or the side surface portion of the lens base material when the coating layer is formed on the surface of the base material by spin coating the coating agent.

Coating method

Provided is a moisture curable polyurethane composition that is a moisture curable polyurethane having an isocyanate group on one end of a molecule thereof. The moisture curable polyurethane composition contains a moisture curable polyurethane (A) and an organic solvent (B). The moisture curable polyurethane (A) is obtainable by reacting a polyisocyanate compound having at least two isocyanate groups in a molecule thereof (A1) with a low-molecular weight polyol compound having at least two hydroxyl groups in a molecule thereof and having a number average molecular weight of 50-300 (A2). Also provided is a laminate including an optical substrate and a polyurethane resin layer comprising the moisture curable polyurethane composition.

To provide a photochromic composition which functions as an adhesive layer for bonding two optical sheets that are formed of a polycarbonate resin or the like, so that a laminate that is obtained by bonding two optical sheets with the composition being sandwiched therebetween has excellent adhesion, heat resistance and photochromic properties. In particular, to provide a photochromic composition which is capable of forming an adhesive layer that is not decreased in the adhesion between the optical sheets even in cases where the adhesive layer is in contact with hot water. Provided is a photochromic composition which contains a urethane polymer having a polymerizable group (component A) and a photochromic compound (component B).

Photochromic composition and optical article using photochromic composition

Provided is a photochromic composition which can function as an adhesive layer for bonding optical sheets made from a polycarbonate resin or the like and a laminated article using said composition exhibits excellent tight adhesion, heat resistance and photochromic properties. In particular, provided is a photochromic composition which can prevent an elution of the composition from the optical sheets when embedding and polymerizing in a polymerizable monomer. The photochromic composition comprises a polyurethane resin (A) having an isocyanurate structure and a photochromic compound (B).

A photochromic composition functions as an adhesive layer for bonding optical sheets or films made from a polycarbonate resin or the like, and can be used to produce a laminated sheet that exhibits excellent adhesive properties, heat resistance, photochromic properties, and perspiration resistance. The photochromic composition includes (A) a polyurethane-urea resin having a urea bond in a molecular chain, in which a tetrahydrofuran insoluble content is 20.0 to 90.0 wt %; and (B) a photochromic compound.

A photochromic composition, which can function as an adhesive layer for bonding optical sheets made from a polycarbonate resin, may include a polyurethane-urea resin (A) obtained by reacting a polyol compound (A1), a polyisocyanate compound (A2) that has two or more isocyanato groups in the molecule, and an amino-containing compound (A3) that contains two or more isocyanato-reactive groups in the molecule, with at least one of the isocyanato-reactive groups being an amino group; and a photochromic compound (B).

A primer composition for an optical article comprises; (A) aqueous dispersion of urethane resin having a polycarbonate-derived skeleton and the elongation of 200&#x2dc;1000%; (B) an organic solvent having 3&#x2dc;9 carbon atoms and having an ether bond or carbonyl bond and one hydroxyl group in a molecule; and (C) lower alcohol having 1&#x2dc;4 carbon atoms, wherein the weight ratio of said organic solvent to said lower alcohol is from 0.01 to less than 2.00.
