A disposable diaper includes a waist opening and a pair of leg openings with a composite stretchable member. The composite stretchable member includes first and second nonwoven fabric sheet parts and elastic members arranged therebetween. Each of the first and second nonwoven fabric sheet parts is provided with a plurality of convex-concave regions including convex and concave parts. At least one non-shaped region separates the convex-concave regions from each other in the longitudinal direction. The first and second nonwoven fabric sheet parts are overlaid so that the convex-concave regions of the first nonwoven fabric sheet part and the second nonwoven fabric sheet part adjoin each other and the non-shaped regions of the first nonwoven fabric sheet part and the second nonwoven fabric sheet part are separated from each other and are joined with each other by an adhesive applied to the elastic members.

Disposable diaper

A disposable diaper using elastic sheet materials so that a contact surface pressure may be locally enhanced and thereby the diaper may be prevented from being noticeably displaced on the wearer's body during used thereof is provided. Of first and second waist regions at least the first waist region is contractible. The first waist region includes waist auxiliary elastic sheets extending in a direction of a transverse axis between opposite side edges of the first waist region and leg auxiliary elastic sheets extending along front peripheral edges of leg-openings. The waist auxiliary elastic sheets and the leg auxiliary elastic sheets overlap one another in areas of the opposite side edges of the first waist region adjacent to the leg-openings respectively. With the diaper put on the wearer's body, these areas come in contact with upper lateral regions of the wearer's iliac bones inclusive of the vicinity thereof.

Disposable diaper using elastic sheets

An absorbent article is provided with a waist-cuff to prevent body waste from leaking beyond a waist-opening. An elastic sheet is used for the waist-cuff to be held in contact with the wearer's skin even if the wearer moves. The waist-cuff and a chassis may be joined to each other so as to be separated from each other in the vicinity of an absorbent structure to assure that fitness of the waist-cuff to the wearer's skin is not significantly affected by movement of the wearer and, at the same time, to assure that leg-cuffs can rise without being collapsed by the waist-cuff. The ends of the leg-cuffs are interleaved between the waist-cuff and the chassis to prevent body waste from leaking through a clearance which would otherwise be defined between the leg-cuffs and the waist-cuff.

Absorbent article with waist-cuff

Disposable diapers improved so that waist regions are effectively elastic to assure high fitness are provided. In a first waist region, bonding region coated with adhesive lines includes a first bonding region coated with first adhesive lines extending from a peripheral edge of a waist-opening toward a crotch region and a second bonding region coated with second adhesive lines extending from the first adhesive lines into the crotch region wherein the first adhesive lines are noncontiguous to the second adhesive lines in the direction of the longitudinal axis so that, with the diaper put on the wearer's body, a region defined in the vicinity of a boundary between the first bonding region and the second bonding region folded inward.

An absorbent article includes a chassis, an absorbent structure placed on the chassis and elastic elements attached under tension to the chassis so as to extend across an absorbent structure region of the chassis occupied by the absorbent structure and to extend outward beyond opposite side edges of the absorbent structure. An elongation percentage of the elastic elementsis relatively low in the absorbent structure region as well as in first side regions outside opposite side edges of the absorbent structure and the elongation percentage is relatively high in second side regions outside the first side region and gradually increases as the elastic elements draw away from the first side regions toward the second side regions.

Absorbent article and method for making the same

A disposable diaper improved so that the wearer's skin can be reliably protected from being soiled with feces. A chassis constituting the diaper includes a spacer sheet attached to an inner sheet of the chassis. The spacer sheet has a front end zone and a rear end zone fixed to the inner sheet and an intermediate zone left free from the inner sheet. The intermediate zone is formed with an opening shaped so as to describe a circular arc which is convex forward. Along the opposite side edges of the opening, the spacer sheet is provided with elastic members extending in the length direction of the diaper and attached thereto in a stretched state in the direction. These elastic members extend forward with respect to the diaper along the peripheral edge of the opening so as to get close to a center line bisecting a width of the diaper.

Diaper

A disposable undergarment that has a pair of tape fasteners attached to transversely opposite side edge portions of a rear waist region and a non-stretchable target tape strip attached to the outer surface of a front waist region. The front and rear waist regions and a crotch region are elastically stretchable in length and width. The tape strip includes a flexible plastic sheet having transversely opposite side edges extending longitudinally and upper and lower edges extending transversely of the undergarment and a plurality of long fibers extending longitudinally on the outer surface of the sheet between the upper and lower edges. The sheet is formed with a plurality of perforated lines arranged to be transversely spaced one from another by a predetermined dimension and to extend between the vicinity of the upper edge and the vicinity of the lower edge. The target tape strip is attached to the front waist region being substantially in non-stretched state. The long fibers are bonded to the sheet by means of sealing zones transversely extending in the vicinity of the upper and lower sides of the sheet.

Disposable undergarment

A mechanical fastener including a loop member includes a base sheet and a plurality of continuous filaments extending substantially parallel one to another on one surface of the base sheet substantially parallel one direction and the filaments are bonded to the base sheet along at least a pair of bonding zones extending transversely of the filaments to form a plurality of loop elements extending between the pair of bonding zones.
