A lead-acid battery comprising: &#x2014;at least one negative electrode comprising lead-based battery electrode material and at least one region of capacitor material overlying the lead-based battery electrode material, each electrode being in electrical connection to an outer terminal of the battery, and &#x2014;at least one positive lead-dioxide based battery electrode, each positive electrode being in electrical connection to a second outer terminal of the battery, &#x2014;separator interleaving the facing electrodes; &#x2014;electrolyte filling at least the space of the electrodes and separators wherein the capacitor material overlying the lead-based battery electrode material comprises 20-65% by weight of a high electrical conductivity carbonaceous material, 30-70% of a high specific surface area carbonaceous material, at least 0.1% lead and binder.

Optimised energy storage device having capacitor material on lead based negative electrode

There is provided a method for producing a hybrid negative plate for a lead-acid storage battery which is improved in the production working efficiency and the productivity and enhances the quick charge and discharge characteristics and the discharge characteristics at a low temperature under PSOC of a lead-acid storage battery. A carbon mixture sheet produced by such a way that a carbon mixture prepared by mixing two types of carbon materials consisting of a first carbon material having electroconductivity and a second carbon material having capacitor capacitance and/or pseudocapacitor capacitance, and at least a binder, is adhered by pressure to the surface of a negative plate in a wet state, so that a hybrid negative plate is produced. The lead-acid storage battery provided with the hybrid negative plate is improved in the discharge characteristics.

Method for producing hybrid negative plate for lead-acid storage battery and lead-acid storage battery

To provide a method for producing a lead-acid battery negative plate for use in a storage battery which provides improved deteriorated rapid discharge characteristics by preventing an interfacial separation between a negative active material-filled plate and a carbon mixture-coated layer, which is a problem in a negative plate having such a configuration that the carbon mixture coated layer is formed on the surface of the negative active material-filled plate. A coating layer of a carbon mixture is formed at least in a part of a surface of a negative active material-filled plate. The carbon mixture is prepared by mixing two kinds of carbon materials consisting of a first carbon material having conductive properties and a second carbon material having capacitive capacitance and/or pseudo capacitive capacitance and a binding agent. Subsequently, a sufficient amount of lead ions are generated enough to be moved from the negative active material-filled plate into the carbon mixture-coated layer. Thereafter, a formation treatment or an initial charge treatment is performed to precipitate lead so that the carbon mixture-coated layer and the negative plate are connected and integrated, at least in a part of a respective interfacial surface thereof, by the precipitated lead.

There is disclosed a lead storage battery comprising a group of plates housed in a battery jar, and an electrolyte injected therein to impregnate the group of plates with the electrolyte, thus performing formation treatment, the lead storage battery being adapted to be used in a partial state of charge where the state of charge is confined within the range of more than 70% to less than 100%, wherein the group of plates are formed of a stack constituted by a large number of negative substrates comprising grid substrates filled with a negative active material, by a large number of positive substrates comprising grid substrates filled with a positive active material, and by a porous separator interposed between the negative electrodes and positive electrodes, and the electrolyte contains at least one kind of ion selected from the group consisting of aluminum ions, selenium ions and titanium ions.

Lead storage battery and manufacturing method of the same

A power transmission belt having a body with a length, an inside, an outside, and laterally spaced side surfaces. The body has a first rubber composition that includes an organic peroxide used as a cross-linking agent and N,N'-m-phenylenedimaleimide and/or quinone dioxime in an amount of 0.5 to 13 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of rubber components. The rubber components include (a) ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer and/or an ethylene-&#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylate copolymer, and (b) an ethylene &#x3b1;-olefin rubber in a ratio of from 5:95 to 100:0 by weight.

A power transmission belt having a body with a length, an inside, an outside, and laterally spaced sides. The body has a bonding rubber layer in which elongate load carrying cords are embedded to extend lengthwise of the body. The body is made up of a rubber composition including a combination of epichlorohydrin-ethyleneoxide copolymer and hydrogenated nitrile rubber, to which a metallic salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and an organic peroxide are added.

Transfer belt for use in an electrostatographic duplicator

A power transmission belt having a body with a length and defined by a cushion rubber layer having at least one load carrying cord embedded therein and extending lengthwise with respect to the body, and a compression section made at least partially from rubber. The cushion rubber layer has a rubber composition including an ethylene-&agr;-olefin elastomer capable of being cross-linked with sulfur. The rubber in the compression section is a rubber composition made from an ethylene-&agr;-olefin elastomer capable of being cross-linked with an organic peroxide.

An elastomeric electrode having an electrically conductive base, a protective layer enclosing the base formed of an elastomeric material having electrically conductive material selected from the group consisting of highly conductive carbon black, graphite, and glassy carbon distributed therein and present in the amount of 10 to 30 parts by weight to 100 parts by weight of the elastomeric material. Flexible elastomer electrode

A thermally self-regulating elastomeric composition and heating element made therefrom. The composition includes a body of elastomeric material in which is distributed electrically conductive particulate material, such as carbon black. Short fibers are also distributed in the elastomeric matrix. In the disclosed invention, the short fibers are present in the amount of approximately 0.5 to 20 volume percent. In one alternate form, the matrix is foamed. Different arrangements of the electrodes in electrical conductive association with the thermally self-regulating elastomeric body are disclosed. Preferred proportions and characteristics of the particulate conductive material and short fibers providing optimum thermally self-regulating characteristics of the composition are disclosed.
