When an information access request is made from a terminal for personal use via a computer network, a terminal information receiving section of an information transmission apparatus extracts terminal information contained in the request. A personal information collating section extracts personal information relevant to that person from personal information accumulated in a database. The information relevant to that person is collected from the database of an information server section and the like. The collected information is edited in an information editing section into contents suited to the terminal.

Information transmission apparatus

An information processing system includes a first memory, a second memory such as a printer buffer capable of a high speed access and independent of the first memory, and an external storage device such as a fixed or hard disk. A first processor primarily uses the first memory as a storage area of information. A second processor primarily uses the second memory as a storage area of information. The second memory and the external storage are selectively used by the first processor auxiliary storage according to the usage status of the first memory and the usage status of the second memory. The second memory is used first as auxiliary storage because of its faster access speeds, and only if the second memory is currently unavailable, is the slower access speed, external storage device used.

A high speed page turning control system and method which is capable of representing the page turning process by actively displaying the image of a compressed window on a display, for example a CRT. A first page is displayed on a display, a second page is overlapped with the first page. The first page, is compressed and the image on the second page comes into further view until only the second page is displayed on the display. To do a previous page the display is effected in reverse order.

High speed page turning control system and method with display window

A picture information display device for displaying at high speed a plurality of picture in windows in a display unit. A frame memory is used for storing the display information corresponding to a display surface of the display unit. There is a window memory for storing the picture information of the window. A control circuit outputs address signal corresponding to the scanning position of the display unit to the frame memory and window memory when the movement or scrolling of the window is detected that the window is moving condition the frame memory and window memory to output the display information and stored in the address represented by the address signal and the picture information in the moving window.

A system for maximized utilization of a display memory of a type including 2.sup.n memory elements of equal storage capacity arranged in a block fashion in corespondence with a display screen, each memory element being capable of storing, in a two-dimensional address, the pixel data which includes a predetermined number of bits. The system includes 2.sup.n-m memory groups, each includes 2.sup.m memory elements neighboring with each other on the display screen, an RAS switch connected between an RAS signal line and an RAS terminal of each of the memory elements forming each memory group, and a CAS switch connected between a CAS signal line and a CAS terminal of each of the memory elements forming each memory group. Thus, they can be switched over on a hardware basis to allow the reading of the pixel data from the display memory to be compatible with either one of a monochromatic and color display device, or one of a vertically and horizontally longer display device.

A display control system which includes a display memory having a serial access port for sending data to a display device and a random access port for data communication with a graphic drawing device. The system further includes a window buffer memory for storing image data such as sentences and graphic charts and a window controller for controlling the position of the window buffer memory content to be displayed on the display device. A selection circuit is included for selecting a display mode or a graphic drawing mode. During the display mode, the stored image data is transferred directly to the display device and overlaps the content of the display memory. During the graphic mode, the stored image data is transferred to the display memory under control of a graphic controller and is then displayed.
