This invention relates to an optical apparatus for observation which is provided with drive control means for driving a variable angle prism on the basis of an output signal from vibration detecting means and in which the variable angle prism is installed between an objective lens and an erect prism.

Optical apparatus

Binoculars have a pair of objective units for forming an image separated with a fixed spacing, a pair of erecting prism units for transforming the image received from the pair of objective units to an erect image, and a pair of eyepiece units. Each of the pair of erecting prism units has a Pechan roof prism having a roof face, a disparity existing between luminous flux center incident on each of said pair of erecting prisms and an optical axis along which light exits from each of said pairs of erecting prisms. Each one of the pair of prisms rotates around an optical axis of a corresponding one of the pair of objective units. The eyepiece units receive the erect image from the erecting prism units, respectively, with each of the pair of eyepiece units being rotatable around an optical axis of a corresponding one of the pair of objective units.

An image reading apparatus is constructed so that a film holder and an adapter that are accessories can be selectively mounted to a film scanner that serves as an original placing board. A cartridge containing a dedicated film can be inserted into and removed from the adapter. Image information is read from the film in the film holder or the film in the cartridge by moving the original placing board. Further, the film or the cartridge can be exchanged in a condition where the film holder or the adapter is mounted to the film scanner.

Image reading apparatus

An image reading apparatus includes a carriage for holding a film holder holding a film, a motor for moving the carriage, and a housing for holding the carriage and the motor. While the motor moves the carriage, a first portion of the carriage is positioned by being slidably clamped by the housing, and a second portion which is in the opposite side of the first portion of the carriage is slidably positioned by a guide shaft. An image reading apparatus includes an image sensor for sensing an image from an original, a conveyor for conveying the original, a first board on which an image processing circuit for performing predetermined processing for an image signal output from the image sensor is mounted, and a second board on which a power supply circuit for supplying power to the image processing circuit is mounted. The first and second boards are arranged to be parallel to each other, and the conveyor means conveys the original to cause the original to pass through a space enclosed with the first board and the second board. An inlet is formed in a lower part of a space enclosed with the first board and the second board, and an outlet is formed in an upper part of the space. The conveyor conveys the original while keeping the original parallel to the first or second board. The original is translucent.

An optical apparatus or a control device to be used for a light flux deflecting apparatus is arranged to include at least two light flux deflecting portions and a control portion which control the driving actions of the at least two light flux deflecting portions in such a manner that, with the light flux deflecting portions applied as image shake preventing mechanisms to an optical apparatus using a plurality of light fluxes, such as a binocular, the arrangement effectively prevents such inconveniences as the necessity of using a plurality of control portions in controlling each of the light flux deflecting portions and giving a disagreeable feeling to the user due to a discrepancy arising in the amount of deflection between two light fluxes.
