A microscope having a mirror for deflecting light from an illumination light source in a direction of an objective lens and illuminating a specimen via a condenser lens disposed above the mirror includes a stage support which is mounted on the upper surface of a base portion to permanently hold a stage, on which a specimen is placed, with respect to the optical axis direction of the objective lens, a condenser body mounted on the upper surface of the base portion, a condenser lens holding member for holding the condenser body, an elevating mechanism for vertically moving the condenser lens holding member, and a focusing mechanism for moving the objective lens in the optical axis direction.

A micromanipulator for an inverted design microscope comprises a needle carrier disposed between a stage and a condenser lens of the microscope for carrying a glass needle in the direction of an optical axis. It also includes a centering mechanism which causes a displacement of the glass needle in a plane orthogonal to the optical axis, a hydraulic drive mechanism disposed on the upper surface of the stage for supporting the needle carrier to cause a vertical movement of the glass needle carried by the carrier along the optical axis, and a hydraulic operator connected to the hydraulic drive mechanism through a hydraulic transmission tube.

Micromanipulator for inverted-design microscope

A vertical illuminator for microscope permits a choice between a vertical bright and a vertical dark field illumination. The illuminator includes a light diminishing member or a light shield member which is operated in response to an illumination switching operation. The light diminishing member may be moved out of an illumination light path or the light shield member may be temporarily advanced into the illumination light path, as desired, thereby decreasing a difference in the brightness of the field of view as the illumination is switched. In this manner, the observation is facilitated and the likelihood of damaging the eyes of a viewer is eliminated.

A specimen holding device for microscope stages comprising a specimen supporting body secured to a microscope stage and a specimen push claw rotatably mounted on the specimen supporting body and urging a specimen against the specimen supporting body. The specimen supporting body and the specimen push claw are provided at respective front ends of the side edges thereof with inclined surfaces opposed with each other and inclined at an acute angle with respect to the specimen insertion direction and the distance between the front ends of the inclined surfaces is made sufficiently larger than the width of the specimen even when the specimen is not inserted between the specimen supporting body and the specimen push claw.

An automatic focusing device for microscopes comprising nozzles arranged around the individual objective lenses, a gas feed pipe attached to the arm or the similar member of the microscope, and a coupler arranged in or near the objective lens switching device and used for connecting said gas feed tube to said nozzle, said automatic focusing device being adapted in such a manner that when objective lenses are switched from one to another to be used for microscopy by rotating said objective lens switching device, the nozzle arranged around the objective lens to be used for microscopy is connected to said gas feed tube, whereby the gas supplied through said gas feed tube passes through said coupler and is injected from said nozzle for focusing the objective lens to be used for microscopy.
