The present invention provides a hydrogen production process, which is capable of producing hydrogen, which is a clean source of energy, simply and conveniently without using conventionally-used ammonia, with an extremely high level of safety. In accordance with the present invention, hydrogen is produced by substituting hydrogen for free oxygen in mayenite (CaAlOO) to obtain hydrogen-substituted mayenite (CaAlOH) and reacting the resultant hydrogen-substituted mayenite (CaAlOH) with water to produce hydrogen, and hydrogen is produced by substituting hydrogen for free oxygen in mayenite (CaAlOO) to obtain hydrogen-substituted mayenite (CaAlOH), irradiating the resultant hydrogen-substituted mayenite (CaAlOH) with ultraviolet rays to obtain conductive mayenite (CaAlOe), and reacting the resultant conductive mayenite (CaAlOe) with water to produce hydrogen.

Hydrogen production process

A cell cultivating platform includes a substrate having a surface, at least one actuator moveable relative to the substrate, and a deformable material layer positioned above at least a portion of the supporting surface and the at least one actuator. The deformable material layer positioned opposite the substrate surface includes a biocompatible supportive surface suitable for supporting cultivated cells. The supportive surface deforms or otherwise deflects in response to activation of the at least one actuator, effectively releasing at least a portion of the cultured cells from the supportive surface. Suitable actuators include piezoelectric actuators that can be selectively energized according to one or more patterns to facilitate separation of cells from the supportive surface. Such activation cycles can be repeated.

The present invention provides an organic/inorganic composite containing an inorganic phase dispersed in an organic polymer, the inorganic phase comprises one or more metal atoms that are coordinated to at least one rare earth metal atom via oxygen. A water resistant aluminum pigment dispersion includes a water resistant aluminum pigment which is an aluminum pigment covered with a silica film, wherein the water resistant aluminum pigment is formed of an aluminum pigment having an average thickness from 5 nm to 30 nm and a covering film which contains Si and is formed on the surface of the aluminum pigment; and wherein the coverage ratio of the surface of the aluminum pigment by the covering film, calculated from the composition ratio of C, O, Al, and Si detected by XPS measurement at an incident angle of 30&#xb0;, is in a range from 30% to 90%.

An oxygen sensor includes a metalloporphyrin for detecting oxygen levels. The oxygen sensors may also include a light source and a detector. The sensors are configured to measure changes in spectra in response to the redox reaction. They can detect a variety of samples for presence and changes in oxygen concentration in both solution and gaseous form.

A method for producing water-repellent treated aluminum pigment dispersion includes (a) adding a polysilazane solution in which a polysilazane is dissolved in a second organic solvent to an aluminum pigment dispersion in which an aluminum pigment is dispersed in a first organic solvent for reacting a hydroxyl group present on the surface of the aluminum pigment with the polysilazane to form a covering film on the surface of the aluminum pigment. The amount of the polysilazane in the reaction system for forming the covering film is 0.4 parts by mass or less based on 1 part by mass of the aluminum pigment, and the total addition amount of the polysilazane is from 0.2 to 0.6 parts by mass based on 1 part by mass of the aluminum pigment.
