A direct heat-sensitive recording method and device using a light-fixing-type heat-sensitive recording material in which are layered on a support a heat-sensitive recording layer and at least one light-fixing-type heat-sensitive recording layer, which have heat recording sensitivities higher than a heat recording sensitivity of the heat-sensitive recording layer and which are fixed by electromagnetic waves of respectively different wavelengths, each layer of the light-fixing-type heat-sensitive recording material developing to a respectively different color, including: an exposing device for deactivating imagewise each of the light-fixing-type heat-sensitive recording layers corresponding to respective colors by modulating light amounts of electromagnetic waves having respectively different wavelengths and illuminating the electromagnetic waves onto the light-fixing-type heat-sensitive recording layer; and a heat recording device for developing the heat-sensitive recording layer imagewise and developing undeactivated portions of the light-fixing-type heat-sensitive recording layer by applying to the light-fixing-type heat-sensitive recording material heat energy needed to develop the heat-sensitive recording layer.

Direct heat-sensitive recording method and device

Disclosed is a light and heat sensitive recording material which permits recording using infrared laser light, requires no developing solution or the like, causes no unnecessary generation of waste, and is capable of forming completely dry, black-and-white monochrome or color, and clear images with high contrast. The light and heat sensitive recording material comprises a light and heat sensitive recording layer disposed on a support member, comprising the light and heat sensitive recording layer. Heat sensitive recording material

A heat sensitive recording material which is comprised of a support having thereon at least a transparent heat sensitive layer excellent in freshness-keeping property is disclosed. The transparent heat sensitive layer is obtained by coating a solution obtained by mixing a microcapsule containing a colorless or light colored electron donating dye precursor with an emulsion prepared by dispersing a color developer dissolved in an organic solvent, which is slightly soluble or insoluble in water, into an aqueous solution containing both of a surface active agent and water soluble polymer. The stabilities of emulsion and heat sensitive layer are improved by using a partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol as the water soluble polymer and/or adding a metal salts of a salicylic acid derivatives into the coolor developer. A heat sensitivity of the heat sensitive recording material is improved by using a organic solvent having a boiling point lower than 150.degree. C. alone as said organic solvent and/or using a special electron donating dye precursor. An antiscratch property of the heat sensitive layer is able to improve without lowering the transparency by adding a special fillers in the heat sensitive layer.

A multicolor recording material having on one side of a support at least two layers capable of producing colors different from each other in hue through respective color-producing reactions, which further has an interlayer constituted by a water-soluble polyanionic polymer having gelled through the interaction with a polycation between every adjacent two of said color-producing layers to prevent migration of ingredients from one color-producing layer to another.

Multicolor heat-sensitive recording material

A heat-sensitive recording material is disclosed. The material comprises a support having provided on the same surface thereof microcapsules containing a basic colorless dye and an organic solvent, and a developer capable of reacting with the basic colorless dye to develop a color, the capsule walls of said microcapsules being impermeable to either of the basic colorless dye and the developer at room temperature but becoming permeable to the colorless dye and/or the developer upon application of heat. The organic solvent is a compound containing at least two benzene rings in the molecule thereof with a total number of at least one hetero atom selected from nitrogen, sulfur, oxygen and phosphorus atoms, if any, being less than 1/10 a total number of carbon atoms of the organic solvent. The material is excellent in preservability before and after recording and is excellent in heat-developability.

Heat-sensitive recording material

A heat-sensitive recording material obtained by coating on a support a composition comprising a microcapsulated colorless or light colored color-forming substance which can develop its color by reaction with an organic base, and an emulsified dispersion prepared by emulsifying an organic base dissolved in an organic solvent insoluble or slightly soluble in water, then drying the coat.

This invention discloses a manufacturing method of a heat sensitive material having a transparent heat sensitive layer comprised of controlling transparency of heat sensitive layer by coating a composition containing an emulsified dispersion prepared by dispersing a color developer dissolved into an organic solvent slightly soluble or insoluble in water and microcapsules containing at least a colorless or light colored electron donating dye precursor (core material) and then drying the coat, in which a refractive index of the core material and that of an oil phase of the color developer dispersion are properly adjusted. The material has excellent preservability before heat recording, provides a high color density upon heat recording, and develops a black color fixable with light.

A heat sensitive recording material which comprises a support having thereon a heat sensitive layer containing at least color former-contained microcapsules and a color developer, with the heat sensitive layer being formed using a colorless or light colored precursor of a basic dye as the color former, and according to a process which comprises preparing a coating composition by mixing the color former-contained microcapsules with an emulsified dispersion prepared by dissolving at least the color developer into an organic solvent which is slightly soluble or insoluble in water, and then dispersing the solution in an emulsified condition, coating the resulting composition on the support, and then drying the coat, whereby the heat sensitive layer comes to acquire both excellent transparency and high sensitivity to heat.
