The present invention provides a water absorbing agent, including: water absorbent resin particles; and a modified cationic polymer compound containing a primary amino group and/or a secondary amino group, the modified cationic polymer compound being obtained by reacting, with a modifying agent, a cationic polymer compound containing the primary amino group and/or the secondary amino group, and the modifying agent containing two or more carbon atoms continuously linked, and one reactive group which reacts with the primary amino group and/or the secondary amino group. The present invention further provides a method for producing a water absorbing agent including water absorbent resin particles, the method including the step (i) of mixing the water absorbent resin particles with a modified cationic polymer compound.

Water absorbing agent and production method thereof

The present invention provides a water absorbing agent, and a method for producing the water absorbing agent. The water absorbing agent includes water absorbent resin particles, an organic acid and/or salt thereof having carbon number of 10 or more and not more than 30 in its molecule, and a water-soluble polyvalent cation. The method includes the step (i) of mixing the water absorbent resin particles, the organic acid and/or salt thereof having carbon number of 10 or more and not more than 30 in its molecule, and the water-soluble polyvalent cation with one another.

To provide a water absorbing agent which is excellent in balance between absorbency and liquid permeability against pressure and is excellent in flowability at the time of moisture absorption. The water absorbing agent comprises water absorbent resin particles and an organic surface additive, wherein: the organic surface additive having (i) a reactive group for a functional group of a surface of each water absorbent resin particle and (ii) a hydrophobic group exists on the surface of the water absorbent resin particle, and the hydrophobic group has a hydrocarbon group whose carbon number is 8 or more, and a ratio of an oxyalkylene group in a molecular mass of the organic surface additive is 0 or more and 25 mass % or less.

Water-absorbing agent and production method thereof

There are disclosed a water-absorbent resin composition and its production process, wherein the water-absorbent resin composition causes little gel-blocking and is excellent in the liquid permeability and liquid diffusibility and is high also in the absorption performances and further is strong also against the physical damage; and there are further disclosed a water-absorbent resin composition and its production process, wherein the water-absorbent resin composition has the following further advantages, in addition to the above, of involving little segregation of the metal compound and further having a dust prevention effect. One of water-absorbent resin compositions according to the present invention is a water-absorbent resin composition comprising water-absorbent resin particles obtained by polymerizing a monomer including acrylic acid and/or its salt, with the composition having a mass-average particle diameter of 100 to 600 &#x3bc;m and comprising water-soluble polyvalent metal salt particles and the water-absorbent resin particles that have been surface-crosslinked.

Water-absorbent resin composition and its production process

The present invention provides: a novel water-absorbing agent, which exhibits an excellent absorption capacity under a load (AAP), gel layer liquid permeation rate under a load (FRUP), saline flow conductivity (SFC), and shape-maintaining property and ball burst strength (BBS) of a swollen water-absorbing agent aggregate, and excellent persistency of these effects for a long time. The water-absorbing agent, which comprises a polymer obtained by a process including the steps of polymerizing and then crosslinking a monomer including acrylic acid and/or a salt thereof, with the water-absorbing agent being characterized by: (1) exhibiting a free swelling capacity of not less than 23 g/g (GV), a gel deformation of not more than 12.5 cm under a short-time load (0.5 hrPT), and a gel deformation deterioration of not more than 3.5 cm under a load with the passage of time (&#x394;PT); (2) exhibiting a free swelling capacity of not less than 23 g/g (GV), a ball burst strength of not less than 80 gf (BBS), and a deterioration of ball burst strength of not more than 40% (DBBS); or (3) exhibiting a free swelling capacity of not less than 23 g/g (GV), an absorption capacity of not less than 20 g/g under a load of 4.9 kPa (AAP), and a gel deformation of not more than 12.5 cm under a load (16 hrPT).

Water-absorbing agent and production process therefor, and water-absorbent structure

There is provided: a production process for a water-absorbing agent having stable properties in a short time; and a water-absorbing agent. The production process comprises the step of blending an acid-group-containing water-absorbent resin powder with a noncrosslinkable water-soluble inorganic base and/or an irreducible alkaline-metal-salt pH buffer and further with a dehydratable crosslinking agent reactable with the acid group, thereby subjecting the resin powder to crosslinking treatment, or comprises the step of blending an acid-group-containing water-absorbent resin powder with the above base and/or pH buffer and further with a crosslinking agent reactable with the acid group, thereby subjecting the resin powder to crosslinking treatment, wherein the resin powder has a weight-average particle diameter of 300 to 600 &#x3bc;m wherein the ratio of fine powders having particle diameters of not larger than 150 &#x3bc;m in the resin powder is not more than 10 weight %.

An object of the present invention is to provide a particulate water-absorbent resin composition which is so excellent that: the absorption ability in an initial short time is secured in some degree, and further, the absorption capacity lastingly increases over a long period, and also the liquid permeability and the liquid diffusibility can be secured. As a means of achieving this object, a particulate water-absorbent resin composition according to the present invention is a particulate water-absorbent resin composition comprising a carboxyl-group-containing water-absorbent resin in an amount of not smaller than 80 mass %, with the composition being characterized by being: not less than 20 g/g in specific-particle-diameter absorption capacity under load (0.29 psi (2.00 kPa), 1 hour); and not less than 3 g/g in specific-particle-diameter absorption index increment in 20 hours.

Particulate water-absorbent resin composition

The present invention provides: a production process for a basic water-absorbent resin to be a main component of a water-absorbing agent which exhibits an excellent water absorption capacity under a load with high productivity; a production process for a water-absorbing agent; and use thereof. The production process for an irregular shape basic water-absorbent resin comprises the step of reacting a basic resin and a crosslinking agent in order to obtain the basic water-absorbent resin, with the process forwarding a crosslinking reaction and pulverizing the resultant product at the same time. The first production process for a water-absorbing agent comprises the step of blending an acidic water-absorbent resin with the basic water-absorbent resin obtained by the above-mentioned process. The second production process for a water-absorbing agent comprises the step of obtaining a mixture of an acidic water-absorbent resin and the basic water-absorbent resin by coexisting with the acidic water-absorbent resin when carrying out the crosslinking reaction and the pulverization in the above-mentioned process.
