Provided is a top plate for a cooking device including a glass sheet () and a light-shielding film () formed on a lower surface () of the glass sheet () through sputtering. The light-shielding film () contains an oxide, a nitride, or an oxynitride of a transition metal of Group 6 to Group 11 on the periodic table. In this manner, a color close to grey can be achieved as a color of the light-shielding film () while insulating properties of the light-shielding film () are secured.

A substrate is made of a crystallized glass having translucency and an average linear thermal expansion coefficient of &#x2212;5&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. at 30 to 500&#xb0; C. In a window member () to be used as a window of a combustion apparatus, adjusting means is bonded to a substrate () made of glass. The adjusting means adjusts an average transmittance of the window member so that the average transmittance at a thickness of 4 mm for an electromagnetic wave having a wavelength of 0.4&#x2013;0.8 &#x3bc;m falls within a range between 10 and 50%.
