A compressor includes three suction pipes. A first center of a first suction pipe, a second center of a second suction pipe, and a third center of a third suction pipe are positioned at vertices of a triangle. A first distance between the first center and a center of a compressor main body is smaller than a second distance between the second center and the center of the compressor main body and a third distance between the third center and the center of the compressor main body. A second flow path cross section and a third flow path cross section are positioned on opposite sides of a center connection line sandwiched therebetween. The first suction pipe is connected to a suction port which is at an uppermost position among three suction ports provided in a case.

In one embodiment, a compression mechanism unit of a rotary compressor includes a cylinder includes a cylinder chamber, a roller in the chamber, first and second vanes which come into contact with the roller and partition the chamber into a compression side and an absorption side, and a bias member which biases the vanes. On both end sides of a posterior end portion of the first vane, first vane side attachment portions having an equal dimension in the axial direction are provided. On both end sides of the second vane along the axial direction of the axis, second vane side attachment portions having an equal dimension in the axial direction are provided. The vanes are attached to the bias member via the attachment portions.

A refrigerant compressor includes a compression unit having a roller and a vane for compressing refrigerant. The vane has a film having first to fourth layers on its metallic base member. The first layer is made of chromium. The second layer is made of chromium and tungsten-carbide. The third layer is made of metal-containing amorphous-carbon containing at least tungsten or tungsten-carbide. The fourth layer is made of non-metal-containing amorphous-carbon containing carbon and hydrogen. In the second layer, chromium content-rate on a first-layer side is larger than on a third-layer side, and tungsten-carbide content-rate on the third-layer side is larger than on the first-layer side. In the third layer, content-rate of the at least tungsten or tungsten-carbide on a second-layer side is larger than on a fourth-layer side. The roller with which an end-edge of the vane slidably-contacts is made of flake graphite cast iron containing molybdenum, nickel and chromium.

A horizontal rotary compressor is configured such that an electrically powered compressor body is accommodated in a horizontally long hermetic receptacle in which a lubricating oil is accumulatively preserved, an interior of the hermetic receptacle is partitioned by a partition member into an oil storage portion space in which the compressor mechanism portion is positioned and an electric motor side space in which the electric motor portion is positioned, an oil communication portion is provided below the partition member, a gas communication opening is provided in an upper portion of the partition member, and an oil feed passageway is formed of a center opening, an oil guide opening, and oil suction tubing along the rotation axis.
