Provided is a safer air bag system which relieves shock to the head and face of an occupant when an air bag inflates and deploys. An air bag body consists of a primary air bag and a secondary air bag which is provided on the front surface of the primary air bag . When an inflator is actuated, the high-pressure gas is introduced into the primary air bag to inflate and deploy the primary air bag and then fed into the secondary air bag through gas introducing ports of the primary air bag so that the secondary air bag inflates and deploys more slowly than the primary air bag . The secondary air bag thus absorbs shock to the face of the occupant caused by the inflation and deployment of the primary air bag

Air bag system

A method of treating abnormal cells, including cancer cells, includes administering a photosensitive chemical substance to accumulate at the cancer cell and applying a constant electric field or a high frequency electric field to the abnormal cells to thereby excite the photosensitive chemical substance to undergo a reaction detrimental to the abnormal cells. The abnormal cells may be in tissues inaccessible to light, including cancer cells in the blood.

Method of exciting photosensitive material

There is provided a compound centrifuge tube including a larger volume bottomless portion, and a smaller volume portion having a bottom and formed just below the larger volume portion. The smaller volume portion is designed to be separable from the larger volume portion, for instance, by forming an annular groove at an outer surface of the tube so that a boundary between the larger and smaller portions has a smaller wall-thickness than other portions. For another instance, there may be formed threaded portions both at a lower end of the larger volume portion and at an upper end of the smaller volume portion so as to detachably engage those two portions to each other. In accordance with the compound centrifuge tube, a cell pellet remain unremoved at a distal end of the smaller volume portion even after centrifugation and washing. Thus, it is no longer necessary to transfer the cell pellet into a micro-tube with a pipette unlike a conventional centrifugal separation tube where it is necessary to transfer a cell pellet to a micro-tube from the tube after centrifugation/washing.
