A method for producing a metal thin film on a substrate includes: a step of applying an ink to a flat blanket; a first transfer step of bringing the first blanket and a letterpress having a predetermined pattern of projections into contact by a pressure compression while the flat blanked and the letterpress being disposed opposite each other, to selectively transfer a portion of the ink on the flat blanket corresponding to the projections to the letterpress; a second transfer step of bringing the flat blanket obtained after the first transfer step and the substrate into contact by pressure compression while the flat blanket and the substrate being disposed opposite each other, to transfer the ink remaining on the flat blanket to the substrate; and a step of subjecting the substrate obtained after the second transfer step to electroless plating to deposit a metal thin film on the substrate.

Method for producing metal thin film

A polarizer capable of being manufactured in simple steps, and a method of manufacturing the polarizer, as well as a liquid crystal projector are provided. The polarizer includes a substrate having light permeability, and a plurality of linear projections being arranged on the substrate and extending along one direction within a plane thereof. Each of the linear projections having a base layer and a plating layer in the named order from the substrate, the base layer containing a catalyst material for electroless plating process, and the plating layer being deposited by using the base layer as a catalyst.

A process for producing a cold cathode field emission device. A cathode electrode is formed on a front surface of a support member that transmits exposure light. An insulating layer is formed on an entire surface. A gate electrode is formed on the insulating layer. The support member is irradiated with exposure light from a back surface side of the support member through the hole as a mask for exposure. An electron-emitting-portion-forming-layer composed of a photosensitive material is formed at least inside the opening portion. The support member is irradiated with exposure light from a back surface side of the support member through the hole as a mask for exposure.

Cold cathode field emission device and process for the production thereof, and cold cathode field emission display and process for the production thereof

A process for producing a cold cathode field emission device. A cathode electrode is formed on a front surface of a support member that transmits exposure light. An insulating layer is formed on an entire surface. A gate electrode is formed on the insulating layer. The support member is irradiated with exposure light from a back surface side of the support member through the hole as a mask for exposure. An electron-emitting-portion-forming-layer composed of a photosensitive material is formed at least inside the opening portion. The support member is irradiated with exposure light form a back surface side of the support member through the hole at a mask for exposure.

Planar display device manufacturing method

Magnetic transducer head for perpendicular mode recording is disclosed which comprises a main magnetic pole made of a thin film of soft magnetic material and a pair of guard blocks bonded to the main magnetic pole as a unitary body so as to grip the main magnetic pole from both sides thereof, wherein the guard blocks are each formed of a nonmagnetic material portion extended from a magnetic record medium contact surface to a predetermined position and a magnetic material portion, grooves are formed on bonded boundary surfaces between the nonmagnetic material portions and the magnetic material portions, the grooves for separating auxiliary magnetic pole portions magnetically connected to the main magnetic pole to become auxiliary magnetic poles of a predetermined width from return path portions which become return path of magnetic fluxes from the main magnetic pole, boundary surfaces between the nonmagnetic material portions and the magnetic material portions come apart (diverge away) from the magnetic record medium contact surface at a plane perpendicular to the main magnetic pole formed on a pointed portion of the auxiliary magnetic poles, the grooves are covered with the nonmagnetic material portions over a range from the auxiliary magnetic pole portions to the return path portions and a coil is wound around the main magnetic pole through the grooves.
