An image display device includes: an image display unit that displays an image; an eyeball position acquiring unit that acquires an orientation of an eye of a viewer relative to a reference position; and an image moving unit that translates the image display unit or an image displayed on the image display unit by a distance corresponding to the acquired orientation of the eye relative to the reference position or rotationally moves the image display unit or the image displayed on the image display unit by an angle corresponding to the acquired orientation of the eye relative to the reference position.

A projection image position adjustment method of applying position adjustment to, using two adjustment images, two projection images on a projection surface projected to have an overlay area by two of a plurality of projectors in a multi-projection display. The method includes: a first step of providing, to the two projectors, two adjustment image data respectively corresponding to the two adjustment images each showing a pattern of specific characteristics in the overlay area when the two adjustment images are projected with an appropriate positional relationship; a second step of calculating an evaluation value correlated to the characteristics based on image capture data that is derived by capturing an image of the projection surface with the two adjustment images projected thereon by the two projectors; and a third step of subjecting the two projection images to the position adjustment based on the evaluation values.

Projection image position adjustment method

A position adjustment method for adjusting positions of two projection images projected from multiple projectors contained in a multi-projection display onto a projection surface such that the images overlap. A first step involves setting pixel values of colors such that a predetermined characteristic is exhibited in an overlapping area when the adjustment images are projected. A second step involves producing adjustment image data corresponding to the adjustment images. Colors of the adjustment images are allocated to patterns such that the patterns overlap when the adjustment images are projected. A third step involves giving the adjustment image data to the multiple projectors and calculating evaluation values associated with the image data that is obtained by taking an image of the projection surface on which the adjustment images are projected from the multiple projectors. A forth step involves performing position adjustment for the projection images based on the evaluation values.

Position adjustment method for projection images

A projection system includes a projector and a computer connected to the projector, wherein the projector projects an image according to an image information output from the computer. The projector includes an adjustment operation section that adjusts the settings of the projector and an adjustment operation identification section that identifies the adjustment operation indicated by an adjustment signal output from the adjustment operation section. The projector includes an adjustment-signal generating section that generates an adjustment signal on the basis of the adjustment operation identified by the adjustment operation identification section and a two-way communication section that sends the generated adjustment signal to the computer, and receives a signal from the computer. The computer includes a two-way communication section that receives the adjustment signal and sends a signal and an image processor that processes the image signal to be output according to the received adjustment signal.
