A package for optical module includes a flat-plate-shaped metal base, and a ceramic circuit board in which a plurality of terminals are arranged in a longitudinal direction, and which is joined to an upper surface of the metal base by soldering. The ceramic circuit board has a shape change portion in which the ceramic circuit board is changed in shape along the longitudinal direction, and a region of the ceramic circuit board not including the shape change portion is joined to the metal base by soldering. The shape change portion of the ceramic circuit board is a portion where a width is changed along the longitudinal direction, or a portion where a thickness is changed along the longitudinal direction.

Package for optical module

One side surface of a diffraction grating is securely held by a holder, and further, the holder is securely supported on a substrate by a supporter in such a manner that the diffraction grating held by the holder is not brought into contact with the substrate. In this manner, the diffraction grating is fixed only onto one side surface to the supporter via the holder, and further, the diffraction grating is not brought into contact with the substrate. Therefore, the lower portion of the supporter is displaced by heat generated in the substrate, however, the displacement of the supporter cannot adversely influence directly on the diffraction grating since the holder is interposed between the displaced portion and the diffraction grating.

A lens holder includes a pair of leg members inclined and extending to a lens housing from a support member that supports the lens holder at a predetermined position. A distance between pair of leg members is set such that the distance between lower end portions is equal to or larger than a width of the lens housing to be supported, and the distance between upper end portions is equal to or smaller than the width of the lens housing to be supported, and that the distance becomes gradually smaller from the lower end portions to the upper end portions of the legs. The light-receiving package for flat-plate mounting is provided with a first subassembly in which a photo diode is fixed to a front surface of a retaining holder, a back surface of the retaining holder is a flat surface capable of moving parallel on a plane parallel to a light-receiving surface of the photo diode and a second subassembly which has a rectangular U-shaped concave holder for retaining the retaining holder, and a flat-plate base disposed on a substrate and in which a surface of the flat-plate base that is mounted on the substrate is a flat surface capable of moving parallel to a substrate surface, the rectangular U-shaped concave holder and the flat-plate base are fixed, at least one of surfaces of the concave holder having a rectangular U-shape being a flat surface is a flat surface capable of moving parallel to the back surface of the retaining holder.

Light-receiving package for flat-plate mounting, and optical module

A low-cost optical module with highly consistent properties. The optical module includes, in a housing, an optical waveguide array, an optical functional element array, lens optics using one or a plurality of lenses for optically coupling the optical waveguide array and the optical functional element array, and a mirror disposed so as to convert the propagation direction of optical beams transmitted by the lens optics such that the optical beams are incident on the optical incidence ports of the optical functional element array. The optical functional element array is affixed to the housing, and the angle of the mirror is fixed in place after the angle of the mirror is adjusted such that the optical waveguide array and the optical functional element array are optically coupled.

Optical module

An optical module for receiving light according to a digital coherent optical transmission scheme includes two optical fibers, and a monitor PD. The optical signal processing circuit includes a substrate, an optical waveguide layer made up of a core and a clad layer stacked on top of the substrate, and fixtures stacked on top of the clad layer on the one end, and is provided with a light shield member which spans the substrate, the clad layer, and the edge face of the fixture on the edge face of the optical signal processing circuit that faces the monitor PD, and which includes an aperture unit aligned with the given site where the diverted signal light is output.

A light-shielding portion () shields the light spot of output light output toward a shunt position &#x3b1; by a projecting portion (). Hence, the output light output toward the shunt position &#x3b1; does not travel to an output port (). This allows to prevent crosstalk.

Optical switch

A wavelength selection switch that includes an optical component for adjusting an optical path with an image magnification of M that is provided between a second imaging position and a mirror array. Therefore, it is possible to provide a small wavelength selection optical switch with a short optical path length that is capable of reducing the focal length of each of a first lens and a second lens to 1/M while maintaining the structure of the spectral element, the fiber array, and the mirror array according to the related art. Since the optical path length is reduced, it is possible to reduce the number of reflecting mirrors used to convert an optical path and thus reduce the size of a housing. Therefore, it is possible to reduce manufacturing costs.

Wavelength selection switch

An object of the present invention is to provide a peptide vaccine for preventing and/or treating diseases caused by amyloid &#x3b2;-peptide, such as Alzheimer's disease. The present invention solves the above object by providing a peptide vaccine constructed by inserting a peptide having an amino acid sequence of a cell attachment motif of a cell adhesive molecule to a peptide which consists of a peptide having an amino acid sequence of multiagretope type T-cell epitope, which has been generated immunological memory, or a peptide including the same; an linker peptide; and a peptide having an amino acid sequence of a B cell epitope which is a specific region of amyloid &#x3b2;-peptide or a peptide including the same.

A wavelength-selective switch with a switch unit having a lens array, a first lens and a beam expander, and a branching unit having a second lens, a diffraction grating, a third lens and a mirror, in which the switch unit and the branching unit are accommodated in independent casings, and a confocal point of the light transmitted through the first lens and the light transmitted through the second lens are arranged on a connecting surface of the casing of the switch unit and the casing of the branching unit.

Wavelength-selective switch

In a wavelength selective switch according to the present invention, an isolator is disposed between a lens array and a first lens. The isolator includes an isolator element and a transmitting means. The isolator is disposed so that the isolator element is on light paths of input lights and that the transmitting element is on a light path of an output light. The isolator element is shared among the light paths of the plurality of input lights. The isolator element intercepts lights propagating in an opposite direction to the input lights and prevents coupling of the lights to input ports. The transmitting element transmits the output light and couples it to an output port.

Wavelength selective switch

A light emitting module according to the present invention is characterized in that a light emitting device and a light-emission-side lens are held close to each other by a holding part extended from part of a stem in parallel with outgoing light of the light emitting device, and light emitted from the light emitting device is refracted. A single-fiber two-way optical communication module according to the present invention has the light emitting module and, in addition, collimate lenses close to an optical fiber and a light receiving device, and is characterized in that splitting of light to a light receiving module or coupling of light from the light emitting module is performed with parallel rays. Each of the collimate lenses condenses the parallel rays to an incident/outgoing end face of the optical fiber, condenses the parallel rays to a light receiving face of the light receiving device, and outputs, as parallel rays, outgoing light from the light emitting module.

The present invention provides a polypeptide inducing the production of an antibody in permucosal administration in the presence of no immunological adjuvant, a composition containing the polypeptide, and use thereof. The present invention solves the above object by providing a polypeptide inserted with a cell attachment motif of a cell adhesive molecule to the peptide which has an amino acid sequence of multiagretope type T cell epitope at the amino terminal side of an inserted linker peptide, and an amino acid sequence of a B cell epitope at the carboxyl terminal side of the inserted linker peptide, a composition containing the polypeptide, and use thereof.
