Provided is an aromatic polycarbonate resin composition that exhibits an excellent surface hardness and strength as well as an excellent designability and lightfastness. The aromatic polycarbonate resin composition contains a carbonate structural unit (X) derived from an aromatic dihydroxy compound represented by a prescribed formula (1) and a carbonate structural unit (Y) derived from an aromatic dihydroxy compound represented by a prescribed formula (2) in a proportion of (X)/(Y)=10/90 to 40/60 as a molar ratio, wherein an amount of a cresolic hydroxy group derived from the aromatic dihydroxy compound represented by formula (1) is 60 to 160 ppm.

The present invention provides an aromatic polycarbonate resin having high fluidity and thin-wall moldability as well as excellent transparency, impact strength, and bending resistance; a polycarbonate resin composition containing it; and a method for producing a molded article by injection molding thereof. This object is achieved by an aromatic polycarbonate resin containing a carbonate structural unit (A) represented by Formula (1) and a carbonate structural unit (B) represented by Formula (2), which aromatic polycarbonate resin satisfies the following: (i) the flow value (Q value) as measured using a Koka flow tester according to Appendix C of JIS (1999) K7210 at 240&#xb0; C. at 160 kgf/cmis not less than 6 (unit: 10cm/sec.); and (ii) the glass transition temperature (Tg) is 90 to 145&#xb0; C.

Polyhydric phenol compound and method of producing same

The present invention provides a polycarbonate resin composition for molding a molded article having a thin-walled section and exhibiting a high level of flame resistance and impact resistance, and an excellent surface appearance (low-gloss property). More specifically, the present invention is a polycarbonate resin composition for molding a polycarbonate resin molded article having a thin-walled section with a wall thickness of 0.6 mm or less, the polycarbonate resin composition being characterized in that the resin composition contains an oligomeric phosphoric acid ester flame retardant (B1) and/or a phosphazene flame retardant (B2), and the content of flame retardant with respect to 100 parts by mass of polycarbonate resin (A) is: i) 5 to 20 parts by mass when the resin composition contains only the oligomeric phosphoric acid ester flame retardant (B1); ii) 10 to 30 parts by mass when the resin composition contains only the phosphazene flame retardant (B2); or iii) a total of 5 to 30 parts by mass when the resin composition contains both the oligomeric phosphoric acid ester flame retardant (B1) and the phosphazene flame retardant (B2), with the content ratio thereof being 1 to 49 mass % of (B1) and 99 to 51 mass % of (B2), the resin composition additionally contains 3 to 15 parts by mass of a siloxane-based core/shell elastomer (C) and 0.8 to 10 parts by mass of carbon black (D) with respect to 100 parts by mass of polycarbonate resin (A), the siloxane-based core/shell elastomer (C) has a silicon content of 9.1 to 30 mass % and a number-average particle size in the range of 50 to 1,000 nm, and the flow rate per unit time of the resin composition is 15 to 50 &#xd7;10cm/sec.

Polycarbonate resin composition

Provided is a polycarbonate resin composition that can exhibit an improved flame retardancy, flowability, rigidity, warping resistance, impact resistance, heat resistance, and wet heat stability all at the same time. This polycarbonate resin composition comprises 3 to 30 mass parts of (C) a phosphazene compound and 0.001 to 1 mass parts of (D) a fluoropolymer per 100 mass parts of the total of a component (A) and a component (B) formed of 40 to 95 mass % of (A) a polycarbonate resin and 5 to 60 mass % of (B) a filler selected from glass fillers and carbon fibers.

To provide a polycarbonate resin composition excellent in flame resistance, impact resistance and external appearance and a molded article formed from the polycarbonate resin composition. The composition comprises 0.001 to 2 parts by mass of a metal organic sulfonate (B), 0.001 to 1 parts by mass of a fluoropolymer (C), 0.5 to 5 parts by mass of polyalkylsilsesquioxane particles having an average particle diameter of 0.6 to 5 &#x3bc;m (D), and 0.5 to 8 parts by mass of a graft copolymer (E) having a butadiene content ratio of 50% to 90%, relative to 100 parts by mass of a polycarbonate resin (A).

Polycarbonate resin composition and molded article

Provided a polycarbonate resin composition excellent in flame resistance, impact resistance, and color fastness. A polycarbonate resin composition containing, per 100 parts by mass of polycarbonate resin (A), 0.001 to 30 parts by mass of flame retardant (B), 0.001 to 1 part by mass of fluoropolymer (C), and 0.5 to 10 parts by mass of graft copolymer (D) obtainable by graft-copolymerizing a diene-based rubber with a (meth)acrylate ester compound, the graft copolymer (D) having (i) a sulfur content of 100 to 1500 ppm, and (ii) an average particle size of 70 to 240 nm.

In a polycarbonate resin composition containing a polycarbonate resin and a polycarbosilane compound, the use of the polycarbosilane compound modifies the surface properties of the polycarbonate resin composition without adversely affecting the intrinsic characteristics of the polycarbonate resin, such as transparency, heat resistance, and mechanical properties, e.g., impact resistance. A polycarbonate resin composition containing 100 parts by mass of a polycarbonate resin, 0.001 to 1 part by mass of a metal salt compound, and 0.005 to 5 parts by mass of a polycarbosilane compound has significantly improved flame resistance and high transparency and causes markedly reduced outgassing and mold fouling, without losing impact resistance and heat resistance.
