An image forming apparatus having a development apparatus that includes: a developer storing part; a developer supply mechanism; and a surplus developer removing section; wherein the developer supply mechanism includes: a toner storing part; a carrier storing part; a developer conveying path and a conveying mechanism, both are arranged between the toner storing part and the developer storing part, and between the carrier storing part and the developer storing part; wherein the developer conveying path includes a toner ejection outlet through which a toner stored in the toner storing part is ejected and a carrier ejection outlet through which a carrier stored in the carrier storing part is ejected, and a supplying developer ejection outlet through which a supplying developer is ejected to the developer storing part; and wherein the conveying mechanism is adapted to convey the toner and the carrier while stirring them.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a transfer member for transferring a toner image to a recording medium, a first fusing unit, and a second fusing unit located upstream of the first fusing unit for preheating the recording medium to a prescribed temperature before fusing by the first fusing unit. A heating member heats the recording medium and a detector detects the temperature of the recording medium. A controller controls the output of the heating member and the second fusing unit based on the temperature of the recording medium. In addition, the a recording medium conveyance controller will move the recording medium forward and backward in the recording medium conveyance direction when the temperature of the recording medium detected by the temperature detector exceeds or reaches a prescribed temperature at the end of printing.

Image forming apparatus having a heating member to heat the recording medium

A developing device using dual-component developer which is detachably attachable a first cartridge accommodating toner or a second cartridge accommodating starter incorporating at least carrier. The developing device has a developing section which develops an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive member, a coupling which detachably holds a first cartridge or a second cartridge and having a first aperture corresponding to a replenishment aperture of the first cartridge as well as a second aperture corresponding to a replenishment aperture of the second cartridge, toner buffer which supplies toner from the first cartridge to the developing section by predetermined amounts when the first cartridge is attached to the coupling, and a replenishment path provided between the developing section and the coupling for supplying starter from the second cartridge directly to the developing section when the second cartridge is attached to the coupling.
